31  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Twisted Fairytale swap? on: February 16, 2011 10:35:57 PM
It sounds like there are a lot of great ideas for this swap already.  Depending on what the requirements end up being, I'll probably be in for it, too!
32  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Twilight cake for my daughters birthday on: February 16, 2011 05:04:33 PM
I think this is great!  Nice job combining all the elements from the four book covers.  Your daughter must have LOVED this.  Very creative idea for a birthday cake.  The "Team" cookies add a nice touch, too Smiley
33  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Ice Mice Candy Making Tutorial (White Chocolate Peppermint HP themed Candies) on: February 16, 2011 04:58:49 PM
WOW! Jennie, these are amazing! What a lucky partner you had! Smiley

I was very lucky, indeed, to have been Jennie's partner!  And these ice mice were incredible!  Thanks for the tutorial (and for being such a super-Potterific partner), Jennie!  I would love to give these a try myself for the premiere of part 2 Smiley
34  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: OTHPT2 aka One Tiny Harry Potter Thing Round 2~Signups Closed ~ Sendouts Mar. 31 ~ on: February 16, 2011 12:19:21 PM
Sent in my questionnaire! I'm so excited - I haven't swapped since Decked out for Deathly Hallows Part 1.  Finally got some of my projects posted from that one, too.  Nothing like procrastination, eh?  There are some pretty incredible OTT's in last round's gallery.  Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this round!  Now, to the owlry!  I must inform my sister of this swap Smiley
35  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Harry Pottter winged key necklace on: February 13, 2011 05:59:10 PM
I made this necklace for my swap partner in the Decked out For Deathly Hallows swap several months ago.  She mentioned that she had a thing for the winged keys from the first book/movie, so I wanted to be sure she received a winged key related item.  While searching the interwebs for ideas, I ran across a picture of a winged key necklace and thought "I can make that!", so here it is Smiley

In the excitement of swap send-outs, I forgot to take pictures of it before I mailed the package!  I was very lucky that she not only took some pictures, but sent them to me as well Smiley

Thanks for looking!
36  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Molly Weasley inspired shawl on: February 12, 2011 09:22:44 PM
After running across the discussion thread for the Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Part 2 Swap, it dawned on me that I have not yet posted my projects from part 1!  This was the first real crochet project I've ever completed, not counting dishcloths, of course Smiley

I really wanted to spoil my partner (who is very much a Molly Weasley fan) so I decided that one of the items HAD to be a very Weasley shawl.  As a crochet novice, I was not about to create my own pattern so I found a suitable one at lionbrand.com (Moonlight Mohair Shoulder Snuggle, Pattern #50121) and substituted the yarns of my choice.  I used Homespun in place of the Moonlight Mohair, 2 strands of Caron Simply Soft in place of Lion Suede, and added a border of 2 strands of fluffy eyelash yarn before the fringe.  This project was so much fun, and I am very pleased with the results.  My sister keeps bugging me to make her one now, too!

37  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My first memory bear on: February 12, 2011 07:07:48 PM
This was my very first attempt at making a teddy bear - a memory bear for my Mother-in-law made from her late husband's clothing.  I used Simplicity pattern 5461 for the pattern, two dress shirts in coordinating colors, and two small buttons from another dress shirt for the eyes.  The nose is just a scrap of felt stitched onto the face.  The bow is a little wonky, and I over stuffed him a little too much so he won't sit up on his own without support, but overall I was very pleased with the way he turned out.  I really enjoyed making this bear... perhaps I will try my hand at poppets next!

Thanks for looking!

Gorgeous! Positively stunning.  You have officially inspired me to learn how to work with wire.
