1  Colourful! in Spinning: Completed Projects by hello.mango on: May 04, 2007 12:20:59 PM
It has been ages since I posted on here.  I miss the place.  So good to see  so many people taking up spinning.

I have been spinning lots lately, following a bit of a break.  I have always been spinning but had a real burst of productivity recently.  I was desperate for some bright colours, thanks to the grey clouds we have had here recently.

Anyway, enough of the chit chat, here are the fruits of my labour:

I have put more on my website, but these three are my favourite I think.

What do you think?

Yay! Katamari! Katamari is one the the most fun, innovative games ever, and your bag is adorable! Isn't it funny how the cute stuff in that game just makes you want to craft? I crocheted a stuffed Kuro for by bf (who became more addicted than me despite initial trepidation at my explanations)
I've wanted to make a prince for myself for quite some time, he's just so adorable, but I've never been able to find any decent colored yarn, do you mind me asking what yours is made out of? Awesome job on the bag, now you can use it to meet cool people, heh.

it is funny as my hubby wasn't sure at all about it he thought it wsa just a nonsense game but now he plays it more than me!

I made this bag out of scraps of acrylic yarn as I couldn't find the colours in anything else.  I want to make another out of wool yarn so I can felt it but Imay have to spin and dye it myself I think as I cannot find the colours at the moment!

3  Katamari bag! in Crochet: Completed Projects by hello.mango on: November 03, 2006 06:39:39 AM
I finally got my hands on the game We ♥ Katamari!  Woohoo!  I am so addicted, but worse still my hubby is even more addicted!  I need to practice as he is much better than I am sadly.

Even worse is that the Katamari bug has spread into my crafting life as well and I simply couldn't sleep until I had finished this:

<lj-cut text="naaaa na na na na na na na kat-a-mari dam-a-cy...">

It is a Prince bag, with a lovely wooden handle and although you can't tell that well in the pics there are different shades of green as on the Prince and I even included an antennae!  His face is a pocket!  It looks a strange shape in these pics for some reason must be the things inside...but it is actually a barrel bag.   I even lined it and put a zip on all by myself!

I am obsessed.

5  Creme Egg monster... in Crochet: Completed Projects by hello.mango on: April 02, 2006 10:51:22 AM
I am taking part in a Craft Idol competition on http://www.craftermath.co.uk and the round 2 is to create an Easter Creature/Monster.

Here is my entry, and I am so proud of it as I made it up completely on my own...no pattern used at all!  After all, where else could you find a pattern for a Creme Egg monster in crochet?

6  Re: Yummy yarn....for me!!!! in Spinning: Completed Projects by hello.mango on: February 24, 2006 02:50:28 AM
Thanks for all your lovely comments!  I was really pleased with it.

Caedara: I didn't mean to steal your name, I have always been putting blue and orange together for years and when this yarn was dry it really looked like goldfish!  I love these colours.

Here are a couple of pics of the yarn knitted up, prior to felting which I plan to do this weekend sometime!

I think I prefer the purled side, although I do love the smooth knitted side too.  I can't decide...what do you think?

7  Yummy yarn....for me!!!! in Spinning: Completed Projects by hello.mango on: February 19, 2006 01:00:48 PM
I normally spin to sell so all the lovely yarn I make and want to keep goes to other people.  So I decided to make some for myself, and I am going to make a felted bag with it afterwards!

To make a change, I decided to spin the natural merino then paint it afterwards so I could control the colours a bit.  It is inspired by goldfish in lovely blue water.  I was really pleased with the end result and can't wait to start making the bag with it!  What do you think?:

8  Fibre Friday! in Spinning: Completed Projects by hello.mango on: January 27, 2006 05:54:27 AM
I made it!  I actually have a couple of skeins to show on a Friday!

These were both for a custom order, but I may have to recreate them for me as I love them so much.  Really nice vibrant warm colours.  Just what you need on a cold grey winters day!

First up, Dawn:

Secondly, Sequin Monster:

What do you think?  Sorry the pics aren't brilliant, but hot pink and red are hard to get right in photo's for some reason.

9  Re: Fiber Friday (brand shiny new edition!) in Spinning: Completed Projects by hello.mango on: January 20, 2006 09:09:17 AM
Beautiful yarns!  I love the little swatches that you have knitted up, Lufah.

Here is my contribution...a rare 2ply for me as I prefer singles normally.  The purple is acrylic and the white is natural merino.
Raspberry Ripple:

I am pleased with it but as always when I ply, am disappointed that there isn't more yarn considering the work it took to make it.  It is double the work really for half the yarn.

Ah well, I am currently spinning up lots of custom orders so I feel like I have little to show. I am hoping to back to spinning lots more soon though.

10  Twisted Tuesday? in Spinning: Completed Projects by hello.mango on: January 17, 2006 12:10:29 PM
True to form, I have missed Fibre Friday again...but here are a couple of yarns for a Twisted Tuesday:

Sunny Snow: (Natural white merino with Gold Iris Angelina Sparkle Fibre)

Iris Too: (Merino in Purples, Lilac and Yellow - this one is a custom order yarn for someone else called Zoe too!)

Lastly, I visited spinners heaven on Sunday:  Wingham Wool Works in Rotherham, UK!  Oh, it was sooo beautiful.  All kinds of fibre and books and yarn hanging and stuffed everywhere.  I was fairly restrained and only came away with a bit but Iam going back with more money!  here is my stash from the shopping trip:

Anyone else having a Twisted Tuesday?
