1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Yudu Screen Printing Machine on: March 17, 2009 09:02:41 AM
Jiffyshirts is a great site, i use them all the time!

The reason why this is a great machine for the price is because of the ease of making the screens.  All the other stuff that you have to buy for it is a rip off. I dont see why you couldn't just buy generic emulsion/ink/screens from an online company and save lots of money.  If you use actual screenprinting ink its not going to ruin the screen, they just want you to buy their ink. It's crazy that they want you to spend $15 on emulsion and then $20 something on a new screen especially if it is not to make money on.

If someone tries using other products please let me know (that is the only way i'm planning on buying one) thanks!

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Re: Kokeshi doll patterned tote on: January 23, 2009 10:08:47 AM
i like them, try it with the eyes see what it looks like. Maybe a black bow on the pink one... anyways i liked the imperfectness of the paint but i think you should get the letter stamps or you can use iron on transfer for the words
5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Oreo Balls :) These are seriously delicious and so easy! on: December 12, 2008 12:14:22 PM
My husband calls them oreo dreambites!
i made these two years in a row... they are loved by everyone just don't tell them that's all thats inside is oreo and cream cheese!

I scraped off the inside first and then ground up the cookie part in the food processor, then mixed the cream cheese, filling and crumbs with an electric mixer and it was much easier that way.

I experimented with peanut butter and mint oreos, they were good but not overly flavorful, i think next year i will use generic oreos and mix in a little crushed up candy cane or flavoring.  That will probably be cheaper!

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: soda can backsplash on: May 07, 2008 12:39:53 PM
cute, i am looking to do a backsplash but stainless steel so maybe i will use the reverse side of a pop can (I'm glad someone else out there uses that word!)
how did you do it? cut the can and then flatten it with a hammer or something? what kind of glue did you use? Does it seem to be holding up well?
thanks

9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: grotesque, gluttonous beasts-- handpainted on vintage plates on: March 06, 2006 08:05:11 AM
when most people post stuff on here and ask if they could sell it i think in my head "no way", but i really think you have something unique and original here and people would defenity buy them! i think you should do some on plain white and some on floral patterns but use new dishes, you may be able to get some from the dollar store or something.  I have a question, did you actually test out washing these more than once, how did they hold up and where did you get the paint? thanks!
