Audio--Thanks Grin.  I think if I were to make one to go outside, I would do it with sparkly paint and squeeze out the little "gems"  There is no way Flink will get to hang outside unless it's a special occasion Grin

dewshinesdopp--I just love the randomness of finding a flamingo in a yard.  I think if they were everywhere, i would find them less of a delight Grin

patty_o_furniture--  Since I'm in Canada I believe the birds would be closer to 2 bucks each...but I'm just guessing Grin

I encourage you to go for it...it just took a LOT longer then I was expecting Grin

Thanks AIMR Grin.  If it were not for the extreme tedium and burn danger I would make an army of them Grin

That's Flink.  He's a Blingmingo.  In this pic he is showing how much better he would survive then normal flamingos. Much better camouflage.  The Hub was the one who named his species.  But I picked his name.  Once Upon a Time, I wanted to own a dinner club called The Flink Plamingo...stop looking at me that way...it was the 80's...aannnyyywaaayy..Here he is in his for-real home

He cost 8$ to make from one of the local dollar stores.  Here's some proof.

The first pic is all the tags from the bits I bought.  The receipt is from the first purchase.  I was going to incorporate the LED lights, but I ended up needing another pack of the gems to encrust Flink completely, so I nixed the lights.  I used 4 packs total at 1.25$ each and then the 3 dollar flamingo.  So 8$ total Grin

I've always wanted to mutate a plastic flamingo, so I was completely delighted when I found one for that cheep!  I did a rough estimate, and I think Flink took me aprox. 20 hours.  I used far more glue sticks than I thought I would.  I also used glitter green and blue paint to fill in some of the open pink parts that showed up once I was done gluing.  I had used blue square gems as the eyes, but they didn't show as much, so I pulled out my eyes and decided to homage the pink feathers of the original dino...I mean birds Grin  Here's a progress shot.

Also happy I failed at gluing myself to Flink.  There were a few close calls, but we both lived Grin

This last pic is the gems I had left over from the 12,000 gems I glued on to Flink.  I did use a few more when I placed the legs and reinforced the join by stacking gems up around the wire to mimic the real one's thighs.

Thanks for looking Grin
