231  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2011 in The Swap Gallery by suereal on: September 15, 2011 04:43:36 PM
I had a personal stuffie swap with v3nu5 and my package was waiting for me when I got back to my folks house.  And here it is...

This is a deep sea anemone to live with all my deep sea critters I've been getting recently.  And THEN...

A bunch of yummy stuff (the box of cupcake candy didn't live long past opening the box, so no photo.) and then a Bigfoot in disguise.  He's in disguise because then the paparazzi will think he is just another "dapper gentlemen".
Thanks a ton v3nu5!  I'm looking forward to introducing them to the rest of my brood.

What an amazing gallery we have made so far!  I'm lovin everything Grin

I had another box waiting for me when I got back to my folks house from v3nu5 (another adopty) ...which was soo nice as two 8 hour drives in 4 days has me a bit frazzled...

Firstly, this wonderful  deep sea anemone.  She will go very nicely with all my ocean critters I've been getting recently.  And THEN....

I got a Bigfoot in disguise so the paparazzi will "just think him another dapper gentleman.  I also got some nomnoms...chocolate bar (that Bigfoot is guarding from me because he thinks since it is called Baron that it is meant for "dapper gentlemen"), a box of sour Skittles (and since sour is my favo and Skittles are all ways yummy was a superb choice), and a box of tiny cupcake inspired candies which didn't live long past opening the package.  YUMMO.
Thanks a bunch Vanessa Grin

Howdy Howdy!  I'm back home for a few days so I thought I would post the uber cool knitted dolls that nmcakemom07 made for Cherry48 but got sent to me by mistake...

Firstly, the adorably grumpy Badtz-Maru.  He was nice and cuddly too.

And a very detailed punked out gggrrrrlllll.

Here's a close up of the cool  Badtz-Maru necklace she is wearing.

Cherry is still working on our private swap package, and she will be sending the 2 that got sent to her by accident then Grin

Step back everyone!  I got my stuffie from Saint_Angel today and it is a dangerous one.  She has managed to capture and send it without killing any postal workers too, so she must be a crypto whisperer.  Clasp your pearls as I'm about to introduce y'all to The MONGOLIAN DEATH WORM!

It did take some time for the MDW to calm down enough for me to get to the chocolate, but I only got a few burns from his spitting acid everywhere.

Here is the the info sheet she sent along.  It will be going on my wall of paper from craftsters.

Thanks so much for swapping with my Saint_Angel.  Mongolian Death Worms are my favo crypto critter Grin

I got another package from one of my "adopted" swappers.  Bananaleg sent me a super cute group of crypto stuffies and a few eye stuffies too.

Nessie in her lake of Ness, a tiny BigFoot (My first Bigfoot too), an eyeball with the iris being my favo green, and a cyclops mask...who just keeps staring at me....
Thanks a bunch bananaleg!  I'm looking forward to introducing them to my other stuffies.  Right now not so BigFoot is trying to ride the jackalope that jillybeans sent me.  The jackalope is not impressed Grin

She also got the stuff I sent her, but has a busy weekend going, so I'm posting that stuff too.

Doll needles, wishfish, skully push pins, and polyclay bananas...that glow in the dark (just because everything should glow in the dark...).  Her stuffie is a tattoed ram.  I was calling him Brando, but he never actually responded to that name, so I may have guessed wrong..

What ever his name is, he was not a happy camper when I tipped him on his side for the navel tattoo photo.  All most kicked me in the head!

I'll be posting stuffies from my "adopted" swapmates as well..and here one comes!

I got my stuffie from jillybeans today and it's adorable Grin

She also sent a bunch of ephemera and a wee package of buttons (my favo being the tiny icecream bars).  I got some pages from her coveted Sherlock Holmes book, some story pages from old kids books, and a bunch of Monopoly paper (money, street cards, chance cards, and what ever the other cards are called.  I even got a park Place card Grin)

I love it's fluffy bum.

Thanks a bunch Jillybeans.  Great addition to my ever growing stuffie army of doom......minions...collection Grin

237  Re: Japanese Cuteness Swap Sanrio/San-x/Kawaii GALLERY in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by suereal on: August 22, 2011 04:38:30 PM
I got my fabo amazing swap box from nmcakemom07 today!!  I went out to do  few chores, and found the delivery slip in my post box.  Then I noticed the postal truck across the street.  SO I jumped in the car and waited for her to come out of the condo she was in.  She was nice and helped the crazy lady standing in the rain, waving a piece of paper around and gave me my box!

So get a drink or cup of tea and have a sit down...this will take awhile *grin*

This was on the very top of the box and I had to sqqquuuee for a bit.  It's HK and my poodle Cosmo all together on this cute fabric!..ok so it's not REAL Ly Cosmo, but it looks enough like him to delight me.

One I opened it up, I was delighted to see a tool holder.  I'll probably use it for my chisel tip felt pens.

Then there was a bunch of things wrapped in lovely paper...I forgot to take a picture of everything wrapped up, but I'm using the beautiful mullberry paper as back drops for the photos so y'all can see them.  I was carefull to cut the tape and not rip it all to shreds...I was tempted...but I wanted to re use it.

This is my Cactus Pup Bastardo Jr!  He's a Tokidokie character, and I love him to pieces.  He's crocheted with felt painted details Grin

This is a crocheted vampire squid named Beep Beep.  She wrote an adorable story to go with it..
The tale of the Deep Deep
The Deep Deep vampire squidlets were taken from their mother Weep Weep when they were very small to be tested on in Laboratories around the world.

Beep Beep was sent to Los Alamos Labs in New Mexico, she was rescued by a family of Roadrunners when the case she was in fell off the delivery truck.  She is very outspoken and very fast.

Meep Meep was on his way to a test site in Bermuda when his plane was lost over the infamous triangle.  He is very soft spoken and very logical.  He currently resides with his adopted family somewhere over Roswell New Mexico.

Weep Weep cries for her squidlets, she is mostly sad, but when she is reunited with her beloved deep deep, she will cry tears of joy.

EDIT:  There was a bit of a mix up.  nmcakemom07 has 2 partners, me and Cherry48.  And we have just figured out that 2 of the packages got swapped.  So I'll be mailing the 2 meant for Cherry48 to her next week.  I'm just waiting to hear if she wants me to post the pics, or wait for the suprise Grin
anyway...back to the yummyness

And I mean yummy!  Some gummy foods, and HK dipping sticks.  The sticks are all ready gone, but I'm going to try and turn the container into some kind of tool kit if I can find a lid to fit it.  The other picture is local foods....and I'm really really happy about that.  Sopapia mix (which are all ways yummy), roasted green chillies in separate little packages.  I LOVE green chilies (my favo Mexican food is chili rellenos, and I love salsa verdes (which I know is tomatillos and not chilies but it's close enough for me)).  Then a package of special red chili powder which looks very red and powerfull.

Then I got a huge allotment of Charms!  Tons and tons and tons Grin  These are the Sanrio based ones..  Lots of HK (I love the little black one.  It has horns and a tail) and I have a soft spot for Little Twin Stars, Kiki and Lala (they were the first Sanrio I ever saw when I was about 5).  The little heads are bells!!  I love the HK key cap too!  She has a little bandaid and a few other scrapes...just like I normally have Grin.  I'll be saving that for when we get our next place (soon we hope *crosses fingers*)

Here is the Tokidokie she sent me.  I'm super excited about the Cactus Pup vinyl sticker!  I can't decide if I am going to put him on my car, or save him for when we move and put him where I can see him all the time...maybe my sewing machine!!  There was also one blind box with Bastardo Jr. and his little skull in side (the one I wanted !! SSQQQUUEEE) then a necklace made from Salamino and it's little hot dog.  And since I have Tortellino and it's skully baby, I'm rolling in tokedokiness!!

Then there are these charms and extras.  A tiny Skellanimal!  She's the little monkey Marcy.  She's so cute!  The wish fish are a whole pack of them!  I've been trying to think of a craft with them all. Uni Poo too!  The little dragon is a Winnie the Poo inside..so now I have Dragon Poo too Grin

And this is my new Furrybones!!  I almost bought one the last time I saw them (at the Octopus Garden in Richland Wa...very cool place BTW) but talked myself out of it.  And this one is the exact one I wanted!!  The black and white balls are beads which will be very cool for all kinds of crafting.  And last, but definitely not least, A little book with a cute wee seahorse on it,..and yes, you read right..It's made from poo.  Not Uni poo, but elephant poo!  I have a little bit of this some where, but it's not in a nice book.  But it is super fun to use..mostly because of the look on folks face when you tell them what it is Grin

Thanks sooooo much Jill!  This has been one of my favo swaps ever Grin

238  Hungry Bear Barrette in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by suereal on: August 17, 2011 03:44:39 PM
This is a silly wee thing I made a bit ago and just sent off for a private swap with Cherry48.  But I was rather fond of him, so I thought I'd do a post.

The bear is made from the transparent blue Fimo.  I used a set of Bento cutters that I picked up at Diaso for the bear.  The red is a thick felt that I got from a Xmas bag that was left at our recycling center.  It's all attached to the barrette with vintage brass brads.  He makes me giggle because it looks like he is saying, "No! That wasn't me that just ate your leg...really!"

Thanks for looking Grin

239  First play with liqued clay in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by suereal on: August 17, 2011 03:37:46 PM
I finally got some liquid poly clay to see what it can do.  This is the first thing I did with it...

This was made for nmcakemom07 for the Cute Japanese Swap.  The image is from a little note book I had.  I used black polyclay and glow in the dark for the frame.  It was nerve wracking covering up the picture, but i like how it came out.  I probably used more of the LPClay then I needed, but I like the kind of misty effect.  In the proper technique, after backing it, you soak it in water and rub the paper off, leaving the image on the LPClay...but I chickened out on that part.  I backed it with some sticky felt I had in my stash, with a small hanger attached
Thanks for looking Grin

240  Ray Gun Messanger Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by suereal on: August 17, 2011 03:23:45 PM
My nephew is just getting ready to head off to Uni., so since I'm the aunt that makes all the cool stuff, I needed to come up with something really cool this time.

Thankfully, one of the new things I have been playing with is soft sewn electronics, (first project here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=384065.msg4548312#msg4548312 ) so I knew I wanted to go that direction.  I have had a ray gun design in my head for a bit, and was able to find an image on line that was close to what I was thinking.  So I printed that out and changed it a bit.  I used the freezer paper stencil technique to get the image on to the bag (which is a pattern I drew up a bit ago. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=365429.msg4293745#msg4293745 I used denim for this go).  Then came the hard part...

Where he is going to school is rather rainy, so I wanted to make it as water proof as possible.  I used conductive thread as the path for the electricity.  SO I covered all the exposed parts with glue to seal it as much as possible.  I also need to make a push button switch so he could fire it when he wanted and the light would not be on all the time.  SO the battery pouch is made so that when he pushes it, the LED lights up.  I was feeling pretty smug when everything actually worked hehehe.  I did have to employ some clear duct tape (Yeah duct tape!) to seal the threads to the vinyl.  SO I took a few stitches through the tape to make sure it stays on.

Thanks for looking Grin
