1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Extreme knitting cushion using 24mm needles! on: May 13, 2012 10:19:20 AM
One way you could keep from getting as many tangles is to keep you yarn in separate little baggies inside your knitting bag. I've seen it done with ziploc bags where you just put each color into it, zip it up, and poke a small hole in the bottom to stick your yarn through. I'm sure it'd help with the tangles and then you could add more strands if you wanted to Smiley Hope this helps!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / First lace project I've ever blocked!!!! on: July 14, 2011 11:47:46 AM
Alright so I fell in love with lace knitting. But so far I've only done small projects like socks and a dishcloth that I really didn't feel like blocking. (I also did a scarf in worsted weight that I decided not to block that I would rather not talk about....) So when I came across this pattern on ravelry for the Haruni shawl I decided it was gorgeous and I had to attempt it Smiley So I did, and then I also decided I had to block it because it just didn't look right otherwise. So here it is, blocking pins still in, and I am SO happy with it! I've decided to make myself another one in a different color now. I think I am truly addicted to lace, and i'm not really a girlie-girl...

I can't figure out how to actually put pics in my post so here's the link Sad

I hope it works...

I forgot to mention that I "tweaked" the pattern a little bit. I did one less pattern repeat than was called for on the main body, and I worked it on size 8 needles instead of the size 4 that were called for. But I am very happy with the results Smiley

These are beautiful socks Smiley I really love the colors!  To be honest with you, I have yet to actually block a pair of socks I've knit. I've found that putting them in the washer, or washing by hand depending on the yarn, and then just hanging them to dry is best for me. When I wear them they form to my foot perfectly which is totally awesome.  Grin
