1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / HUGE Fireplace.. don't know what to do with it! on: January 08, 2014 02:15:31 AM
So, I recently rented a house and I absolutely fell in love with this huge fireplace in it, but once I moved in I had no inspiration about what to do with it.. I don't know why they didn't add a mantel or something, but who knows...

Any ideas would be wonderful. Keep in mind, it is a rental home so I can't be drilling holes and making drastic changes. I would just like to have a not so boring fireplace.

Thank you!

Our Alice In Wonderland costumes.. took forever to make that hat haha. But I loved how they turned out. Myself as the Mad Hatter, my sister as the Queen of Hearts and my niece as the Ace of Hearts card.

My version of the Joker. Was fun to wear, but I kept scaring my 1 year old niece.. in fact, I don't believe she was even a year yet. Anyway, it was definitely fun and I love being Batman Villians! Also, my Batman pumpkin Smiley

This was my costume either 3-4 years ago and I loved it. I'm a huge fan of Poison Ivy and this is what I came up with. It took forever to put those leaves on, but it was worth it. Looked much better in person of course lol. And my makeup was soo much fun to put on. Don't mind the extreme mess behind me in every picture lol. I was going crazy last minute and threw everything around. Also, glittery green shoes!

That is gorgeous! I just made a plain gray one out of polyester knit, and I didn't gather the sleeves cause I don't like my arms, and it turned out awesome. But yours is just amazing lol.

This is totally awesome! I love the reds. They were my favorite team until my city got their own team, and I love them still. Drew Stubbs is my favorite reds player.
I've never used invisible thread, but I've also heard it's horrible to work with. Anyway, this is amazing, and I bet your husband loved it. I sure do!
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: What to do with Flipflops, Flipflops and more Flipflops!? on: October 27, 2010 11:45:13 PM
I know this is super late. But I made stamps out of my old flip flops. I just used scissors and an exact o knife and they worked wonderfully. The texture gave them this really cool vintage look too.

Alright, thank you both! I'll ask her what she wants from that and go with it. Hopefully it's as easy as it sounds lol
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Wedding Dress costume questions on: October 12, 2010 11:09:27 PM
Hey, I'm pretty new at sewing and I don't do too well with patterns. I've been making my families Halloween costumes for years and my sister wants me to create a wedding dress for her costume. She's a pretty big girl and we can't find anything that will fit her in thrift stores, or anything cheap enough.

Does anyone have ideas on how to sew a wedding dress? It doesn't have to be fancy or anything, maybe just a basic empire waist or something. She wears a size 22-24 and we've looked everywhere, so our only hope is making it ourselves.

Thank you Smiley
