101  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Musical Decorating - Need Ideas for Record Sleeves wall hanger!!! on: February 18, 2005 03:15:33 AM
For a while now my husband and I (huge vinyl collectors) have been trying to come up with a way to display some of the cool record sleeves from our collection, while still preserving their condition. I saw the clear vinyl cd wall hangers that Urban Outfitters sells, but no one seems to make one for records! So I've been trying to come up with an easy way to make my own hanger that would both protect the paper/cardboard record sleeves, and be sturdy enough to hang on the wall attractively. The actual records themselves will not be in the sleeves, I don't want to risk them falling and breakin! Ideally it would display about 15-20 45rpm (7") sleeves (maybe more). I can only sew by hand, so stitching my own hanger together out of vinyl seems to be out of the question.
Anyone have any good ideas of how I can tackle this project? Heck, if you can sew me one yourself, I'll gladly pay for it!  Grin  I hope you can visualize what I'm talking about, I tried to find some kind of picture to represent it, but no luck  Tongue
