1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Giant D20 on: June 13, 2018 10:40:43 PM
Thank you for all the kind comments!

I want to make this, but just not sure I am up to the peltx challenge, Do you think anything else might work as a stiffener/lining?

If you use a home decor weight fabric, and then still add an interfacing (maybe something like Pellon SF101), it would probably keep the general shape.  It's not going to produce such crisp angles, and will generally be more round (at least in my experience of trying to sew geometric things).  You could also sew it all together first, and then iron on the (slightly smaller, to account for the seams) Peltex triangles before turning it out.  Then you wouldn't have to wrangle the bulky heap while also trying to sew it together, or sew through any Peltex layers.  Like I mentioned in my previous post, it might not be quite as angular, but still definitely more so than a non-Peltex option.

Good luck!

I want to share a photo of my progress on my lion xstitch research project, but photo hosting seems to still be down, and Im not comfortable sharing this on another site and linking the photo that way because its a Fathers Day gift for my dad, and he hasnt seen it yet. Im afraid hell see it if I post it anywhere else. Plus I dont have a Flickr account and I dont feel like creating yet another account for something Ill never use. So Im hoping this can count as the update for the epic points on my xstitch. Each page takes more than 40 hours, and there were six pages total. Im anxious to share a photo, so I hope the sharing issue is fixed soon!

No problem, this can serve as your EPIC! update post.  Feel free to post a progress shot when you turn in your project (it's optional).

It really is throwing a wrench into a lot of things to have photo hosting down!  I know it's being worked on, and hopefully will return soon.

Love the bag, and the Minecraft cover is awesome!

Everyone should have feedback.  Let me know if there are issues.  Thanks for a great swap!

Cool!  There is a lot of visual dimension, even being made out of paper!

LovelyMiss - I'm so glad you like them! The two headbands can be used as headbands or bookmarks - I use them as both!lol.

craftylittlemonkey - the bags are different patterns. The black one was harder but turned out better!

Ooo, cool!  Good tip!  They are so fun, and I'm going to use them as both...I always seem to be needing one of those things.  Cheesy

Both bags and patterns are great.  I've already used one to carry some things back and forth with ease!
