11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Apocalyptic Fashion Swap! Sign-ups Jan 02 - Jan 21 , Send outs Feb 28 on: January 19, 2011 09:24:39 AM
I definitely want in on this!  I've been really inspired by apocalyptic styles lately.
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Squids and more Squids on: January 15, 2011 11:09:34 PM
Those are really cute, especially the ring!  Now I'm really wanting to try playing around with polymer clay.
13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Christmas gift of music? on: December 07, 2009 01:35:17 PM
I've been trying to decide what to do gift wise for my family this Christmas.  I just started playing the harp 4 days ago.  Renting it and lessons are a birthday/Christmas gift from my dad.  Very few others in my family know about it yet.  I've got some Christmas music books on the way to start learning songs.  I want to bring the harp to our family gathering and surprise everyone with it and playing music.  I know my mom and grandmother will love it, but I feel that I should do a little more.

I'm trying to think of something that little that I can make to go along with it.  I thought about trying to record the songs and make CDs to give out, but I don't know how well I'd be able to record.  Never tried it before.  My skills are also a bit lacking at the moment.  I'm not sure if I'll want the permanent memory of what I sound like now.

Any ideas of other things I could do to supplement the live music?  I'm working with family members from 29-89.  I wouldn't mind baking things like banana nut bread and cookies, but I did that two years ago.  My biggest craft hobbies include everything with fibers from crocheting to weaving to sewing, but I'm open to just about anything.  Or should I just attempt to do the CD?
14  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Link to the Past Crochetalong on: November 23, 2009 04:45:40 PM
I've been itching to do a big crochet project.  I think I'll join you with a chart I made for frog Mario from Super Mario Bros 3.  I was having trouble deciding what to do, then I realized that my frog bathroom didn't have a rug.

I won't be adding any extra squares around Mario, so that will cut down on a lot of the granny squares.

Green squares - 114
Black squares - 153
Tan squares - 62
Total = 329
15  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: More Specimens *image Heavy* on: March 19, 2009 06:25:40 PM
I really like the look of them hiding in corners.  It's as if they're creeping out from their own environment and invading ours.  In the gallery setting they lose a lot of their personality.  I would suggest making your own evironment for them (like in the last to pictures of their natural setting) that you can use to display them a gallery.  Then you could give them the feel that they're creeping and crawling out.  I hope that helps.
16  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Vibrator Case on: February 12, 2008 10:25:14 PM
I've wanted to make one for a while and finally got around to it tonight.  It has a popcorn stitch so it can be fastened on.  I'm thinking about experimenting with making more decorative ones.

17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: A scarf to keep him warm on: February 12, 2008 06:22:08 PM
GORGEOUS!! I would love to get a loom, but how much do they cost and wear can I get it?

It depends on what type of loom you want to get.  New they are pretty expensive.  I suggest looking for used ones.

Here's a scarf that I wove and screen printed for a special boy.

Here's it just off the loom.

A close up of the pattern

Just a little screen printing on the edges to personalize it
19  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: Bamboo yarn on: February 12, 2008 04:55:03 PM
That looks great!
Did the yarn lose any of it's softness with the dye? Bamboo is one of my favorite yarns to work with because of how good it feels.
20  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Strawberry laces on: February 12, 2008 04:48:26 PM
I've actually had the same urge to knit with candy, but haven't been able to find any.  I've been looking in gas stations, candy stores, and places like walmart.  Where did you find it?
