41  Re: Altered Journal-a-long in Craftalongs by RougeRaven on: August 22, 2008 04:13:41 PM
So I got way behind while I was at my mother-in-laws but today I caught up on a bunch of themes, sort of combined into four pages

This started as my architcure page and also works as my hiding place. If you remember, I did a page dedicated Dave being in the Army. He's been having health problems and is being discharged because of them, so I had to write a note to him regarding these things. The window hides the letter but it's pretty personal so it is shut for the photo.

The last couple of weeks have been really hard on us and we just found out that the insurance won't cover a week hospital stay so that sparked this part of the spread. This sits next to the window page so I carried the greens over. The leaves are from a stencil I got at Joann's on sale. I covered the majority of the page is tracing paper but it tore a bit while I was smoothing it out. Since it tore over a leaf, I just cut around it so it stands out. Finally, I cut corner decorations out but I don't what to do on the page behind this one since it'll show through.

This is a WIP for my myth 2 page spread. I think I am going to write out a very short verision out on a long strip of paper and fold it accordian style and putting in the lower right corner.

This took the longest out of the four; I struggled finding the right kind of waves but I found these on sale at Joann's and they were perfect. I love this page.

42  Doodle Stitching Raccoon in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by RougeRaven on: August 22, 2008 02:05:32 PM
Is it just me, or do other people's male significant others request plushies a lot? Dave was flipping through my Doodle Stitching book by Aimee Ray and had to have the raccoon. What tends to happen is he'll ask me to make him something and then the kids claim it. Without further delay, the plushie:

The only major differences are I didn't put the detail on his stomach and the split stitching all around is a different brown since it's all I had.

43  My son's felt name book in Needlework: Completed Projects by RougeRaven on: August 20, 2008 09:16:06 PM
Here is the cover and my favorite page of his book. The photos are a bit large and I don't want to kill people's computers, if you want to see the other pages you can look at my blog:

This was my first name book and I've done two since, one for my daughter and another for my nephew.

44  Re: Givers and Needers Swap R3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by RougeRaven on: August 16, 2008 06:34:07 PM
So things have still been crazy but I am back in Maryland and I have been reunited with my camera cord. So here are the new and much better photos of all my swap goodies, but I have a ton of them so you can see close ups of the fabrics and such on my blog:

My kids playing with my new fabrics, Ceilidh is changing her new doll's diaper exclaiming "Ew! Stinky!"

Sage stealing his totebag for the library, the look of guilt is obvious

Ceilidh making her decision reguarding her totebag

Flower pendant

Red pendant

Bud pendant

Purple and pink bead pendant

Thanks again Sezouli!

I received from my partner sezouli the other day but things have been crazy at home and then craftster was down until yesterday evening, so I am just getting around to posting now. I also realized I forgot to pack the cord for my camera (because I am Polish) so the photos taken on my cell phone do not do the swap items justice. Once I get back home in MD on the 15th, I'll post some decent and clear photos.

I received some towels to embroider for gifts, a bunch of yellow, white and green little totebags (perfect for gifts for the children who will be attending), four resin pendants- I can't decide if the red one with the beads and glitter is my favorite, or the clear one with the tiny bud inside, also some beads for beading, and some embroider thread in colors that I don't have

Fabric- I love the patterns and colors Sezouli! They are all just my style, though some have been snagged by the munchikns already- they'll need to be reclaimed

Photo of the fabrics but the closeups didn't want to turn out

Photo of the resin jewelry

From left to right- resin cast inside a candy mold so it has neat swirls on the front with pink and purple beads inside, resin with a tiny white bud/pod inside, a pressed and dried pink flower, and red glitter with beads

Thanks again, I love everything and I'll post better photos and send out your package when I get home!

This altered book will hopefully be done by Christmas so I can give it to my fiance, but knowing me it'll end up being his wedding gift since I have craft ADD. But then again, the craft along should keep me focused  Cheesy
Anyway, onto the photos!

Dedication/intro page, still a WIP. Can you tell I'm slightly obsessed with red?

The next two photos are of my first pages; I wanted to illustrate the three different "Daves." The figures were already in the book but happened to work perfectly for this. The children's book is from the 80's and titled A Small, Elderly Dragon

My first page ever. Water color pencils and learning to deal with my "man handwriting." (I get told I write like a dude, and I hate how it looks but oh well, life goes on). Dave is Dakota Sioux/Cherokee and one of his favorite pass times is singing and making up 49er songs. This one he made up about me, I think  Grin

Reasons why I love him with a fold out insert. Closed:

Open with all of the mushiness, feel free to ignore the list lol:

Oh... well they are pretty damn cute lil ankle biters, aren't they?

And they came with their own food supply so they won't gnaw on me!

Awesome Brains cross stitch, which makes every zombie home complete.

Zombie wrist warmers to polish off my undead outfits

What is this? A pouch?

A pouch full of zombie stitch marker/charm goodness!

49  Re: FELT FOOD SWAP!!! Gallery in The Swap Gallery by RougeRaven on: March 19, 2008 04:49:57 PM
I am sad to say I won't have action shots because I am currently away from home. (I attend college in my hometown, but my kids are with my Fiance) but enough of the sob story, onto the awesome felt goodness!

Tiana made each of my kids their own drawn string bag, and they are just the sweetest things ever!

Ceilidh's floral bag contained a tea for two set- two sweet tes bags one even has a tiny heart stitched onto the "paper" on the string; a pink poptart; a chocolate chip cookie; and a cupcake.

Sage's Thomas the Tank Engine bag included a pancake with syrup, a piece of bacon, and a sunny side up egg.

Thank you so much for everything Tiana, I love it and I'm sure the kids will too!

I'll be posting extra pics on my blog (see signature), but I don't want to kill people's computers with photo overload.

50  Baby Name Book take 3 in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by RougeRaven on: February 17, 2008 11:08:56 AM
So this is my third baby name book for my nephew Steven, who is 15 months old. In the past I have made name books for my two children Ceilidh and Sage.

I don't want to kill people's computer with huge, numerous images, so you can find the different pages on my blog:
