I received a simply beautiful flag from Muddy21 today and I love it!!  She combined my love of water, theme of enjoying the little things and finding joy in all places.  Footprints is my favorite poem and the quote on the bottom is perfect.  The seashells are sewn on and are from a trip that Muddy21 took.

I also received this great post card that is going up in my craft room - I love crayons!

Thank you so much Muddy21, I can't wait to hang my flag but its going to be indoors because I don't want it to be destroyed.

4  Re: SURPRISE Swap GALLERY-- Send by 9/10/12 in The Swap Gallery by MaryColleen on: August 30, 2012 09:28:38 AM
I received my package the other day and I was completely spoiled.  Prepare to be jealous and see lots of pictures!

Miss Barbara - I love my package, it is perfect!  My avatar photo is a Beer Garden Girl that I wore for Halloween a few years ago and the green beer mug is actually a purse.  I love purses and totes so you nailed it perfectly. Grin Grin  I would love to hang out if you are ever in mid-Michigan!

First off my 'main item' - an awesome crochet purse with a fabulous lining and button.  I love the colors, perfect for the fall and I will be switching into it over the weekend.

Lining - some of the kitties look just like my 2 orange striped fur babies

Button, which is on both this and the smaller purse/wallet you will see in the next photo.  It is a cat playing with a ball of string - can it get more awesome than that?

Miss Barbara called this a wallet, but I am going to use it as a small clutch when I don't need to drag all my stuff with me.

Next are some note cards that are just perfect!

She also sent me some items that go with one of my favorite pastimes - reading
A paperclip book mark and a paper crafted bookmark.  I think these are great.

Then she also threw in some stuff for work!  I told you I was spoiled!!
A mug cozy, an ID holder and a great backpack tag that I have already put on my computer bag:

And finally - everything together including the awesome Owl note that she sent and the decorated envelope (with one of the kitties I mentioned above making a cameo).

I just can't say thank you enough, it has been a long week and this package totally made my day!

Mandys_Momma - I'm glad you liked your flag, I still haven't sent the note I left out  Embarrassed but I wanted you to know that the heart is cut out of a paint sample card.  I was really trying to do something to match your request to do a traditional symbol in a different way.

I also wanted to post pictures of my 2 flags hanging at my Brothers Fire Station.  Thanks again Ladies - it really means a lot to me that you both picked a theme close to my heart.  They are a little hard to see because they were taken with a phone but they are there.

I received my flag from Mandys_Momma on Wednesday but have not had a chance to post pictures until now.  She also picked the Firefighter theme and I am so pleased.  I am going to give this one to my Brother as well to hang at their other station so both have one!

The flag is just awesome wiht the greatest boot on it.  I love that both of my flags had the same theme but they are so different.

Close up of boot - isn't it perfect?

Thank you so much Mandys_momma, I love it.  Yours is on its way, I will send the DC # to you now!

I received my flag from Susanb over the weekend but was working a craft show all weekend.  I didn't get a chance to open it until today and boy was I blown away when I did.

One of my prayer requests was for my brother who is a full time Firefighter.  This flag is amazing and so elegant with the perfect simple saying of "protect those who protect us", I am very moved and thrilled with it.  I was going to hang it on my porch but I showed it to my brother who is now going to take it to the station and fly it there.

Front of Flag - so beautifuly done and finished:

Close up of prayer:

Back to show how
nicely it was finished:

Susan - I can't thank you enough for creating something so awesome for me - I really don't have the words to express how much it means to me.  I just wish I could yank mine out of the mail and redo it since it doesn't measure up to what I received.

8  Re: Ugly Christmas Sweater Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by MaryColleen on: December 03, 2011 06:02:17 PM
OK sorry for the delay, but here are my pictures.  The shirt was a huge hit and I will be wearing it every year - and just for the record, no one thought it was ugly, they thought it was fabulous!

Package - decorated really cute

Awesome Shirt

Goodies to go along with the shirt - the Turkey Bacon rocks!  There are also pins, snowflake earrings, and a Christmas Hair Clip

Action Shot of me in the shirt.  The 'grinch' shirt cuffs are a riot!

Thank you very much KeenBeen for combining Christmas and Thanksgiving and giving my whole family something to smile at.  Next year, I think I will throw down a challenge to see if anyone in my family can come up with as cool of a holiday shirt as I have!

honest to god this girl sent me 4 things of sweets, 2 things of corn puffs and 2 things of cherry chocolate cookies,

Dawn - I am so glad the treats made it.  I am completely addicted to the caramel corn puffs and was trying to figure out how to make them fit the challenge when a friend of mine pointed out that the corn puffs are made by Better Made which is a Michigan company.  I just learned how to make it and have made like 6 batches since Labor Day.  It is the easiest treat to make and can be made a day or so before you need it - my problem is if I make it early, I eat it!

I'm also glad you liked your shirt, Hell is a very cool little tourist spot that only has an Ice Cream Shop (Screams), a store, a bar, and a chapel that holds 6 people that you can actually get married in.  There is a mini-golf course behind Screams, if you or anyone reading this, are ever in the Pinkney area - I highly recommend stopping and checking it out, it is all done with a great sense of humor and the ice cream toppings are served out of a coffin!  Like I said unique  Cheesy

I received my package from my partner Mindawn yesterday (I think because I got home late and got the mail today).  Here are the photos.

Whole Package - Shirt, mint, post cards, very cool bracelet, and information on Fargo:

Thank you so much Mintdawn, I hope you like your package and that you think your shirt is funny.  I am going to put my feet up tonight and read about Fargo!
