Whew, only one repeat to go.  I have stretched this project out for a looong time!  The baby shower is in three weeks, I should make it, hopefully!

3  Empire-line dress from a vintage pattern in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by herekitty on: June 17, 2007 06:04:17 AM
I love vintage patterns and have a huge collection of them.  I even use them sometimes.  Wink
Here is a recent project.  I bought the pattern on ebay, and made the dress out of stretch denim.  I want to make another, maybe in satin or silk to wear on special occasions.
Here's the pattern:

and here's my take on it:

Thanks for looking  Smiley

I haven't had much time to work on this, but it's a long weekend here so I'm hoping to get a good chunk of it done.  Here's a progress shot...

It's not a very clear photo sorry, I had to use the flash because it's dark, wintry weather here in Sydney for a change

5  FO: Calista's Alexander McQueen Knockoff Project in Knitting: Completed Projects by herekitty on: June 04, 2007 04:57:37 AM
Wow, what a great pattern.  Thanks Calista!  This was my first project with cables and Calista's charts were fantastic for keeping track of cables and increases/decreases.

I used Paton's fireside (a dk weight yarn)
Thanks for looking

6  Re: Projects from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" in Knitting: Completed Projects by herekitty on: April 29, 2007 04:14:08 AM
Isn't this a great book?  I've made a few hats and a scarf, but my favourite has been the hourglass sweater.  Here's my version:

7  My new knitted top for autumn in Knitting: Completed Projects by herekitty on: April 29, 2007 03:42:48 AM
I finished it today! It's the body and sleeves of 'Dogwood Donna' from spring knitscene (which I made already and have worn a lot, perfect for our just-starting autumn here in Australia.)  On the front I duplicate stitched a rose from a chart in the recent winter Vogue Knitting International.  I didn't do the ribbed neck from Dogwood Donna this time, I just finished the neck with single crochet.
I love vintagey looking knits.  Thanks for looking!

8  Dogwood Donna from spring Knitscene in Knitting: Completed Projects by herekitty on: February 11, 2007 01:10:40 AM
Here is my version of Dogwood Donna from the spring 2007 Knitscene.  I substituted yarns (I used Patons Jet, a wool/alpaca blend.)  This is a very quick knit!  I like its retro-ness.

Thanks for looking  Smiley

Thank you for this pattern!

I've made three so far...another black one I made for a friend.

This is a great pattern.

10  Re: S&BN "Candy Stripers" Bag Knitalong! (now w/pics) in Knitalongs by herekitty on: March 23, 2005 03:38:02 AM
I've finished all the knitting and seaming.  Yay.
But I'm having trouble with the felting Angry
I tried three times and it's not going well!  It's not shrinking at all, just getting a bit fuzzier.
I used 100% wool and felted some swatches of the yarn before I started and they shrank and felted beautifully.  Any ideas?  I didn't use the recommended yarn, but as I said, I tested it for feltworthiness first!
Oh dear.
Here's the pre-felt finished product.
