1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Fur Baby Snuggle Sacks :) on: May 27, 2011 11:22:59 AM
I just finished a few snuggle sacks for Jack, our baby opossum and a few other fur babes we know so I thought I'd share Smiley

First up is the man himself, Jack, modeling a small size sack in comic book word fabric and fleece lining. about 8"x8"

Next we have a more feminine snuggle sack the same size as Jack's. He refused to model this one since it was so girly ! Used a pretty blue/purple batik for the outer shell and a flowered blue fleece for the inside.

Now comes the medium size, this one is a few inches bigger all the way around. I'd say good for guinea pigs and the like Smiley Same fabric as Jack's sack...you get a better look of it here. This size is about 11"x11"

The large snuggle sack. Made for my son and DIL's ferret Bubbles Smiley this one is approx 14"x14"

2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Hot/Cold Therapy Packs on: May 02, 2011 12:52:08 PM
It's not soap, lotion, or makeup, but I couldn't figure out where else these belonged !

I made these for the OWS a couple weeks ago. It's a complete hot/cold therapy pack set including the eye, neck, and slipper inserts Smiley

I used a cotton flannel for the outer fabric and they're filled with a mixture of flaxseed and rice. they're unscented, I think I might make a few more and add some lavender buds to the mix too.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / New outfit for DGD #1 on: April 30, 2011 03:40:38 PM
So yesterday DGD #1 shows up with this super short, hootchy mama, denim skirt on. Her Pappy and I were not pleased and I informed her that before she went home that skirt would either be in the trash or redone into something I would let her leave the house in Smiley

Sooooooo, we cut the bottom hem off the skirt and I added a 6" ruffle of cute heart fabric that matched the printed hearts on the skirt. Then I took a RTW tee shirt and using the same heart fabric did a reverse applique heart on the shirt. She now has a "new" outfit out of an old skirt that was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too short !

She loves the new look and is thrilled that her Pappy approves too !

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Oven Mitts on: April 29, 2011 07:52:47 PM
Another set of oven mitts I whipped up today. Used a purple/green batik and a lime green solid. LOVE the way they look. These are about 8.5"x5.75", a very nice and comfy size Smiley

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Jellyfish for DH ! on: April 29, 2011 04:49:03 PM
I just finished this shirt up a little bit ago. It's McCalls 4079 - view C in size 2X

DH loves the hawaiian style shirts, but he's not a big fan of huge flowers like you see on so many of them. He's also tired of buying a shirt only to go out the next weekend and having someone say to him "Ohhh, hey ! Nice shirt, I have that same one at home"

So he decided he wanted some OOAK shirts for this summer. Here's the first one. He chose the fabric, I just put it all together lol

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Mini Mitts :) on: April 29, 2011 02:53:08 PM
Finished these today, great for those hot microwave bowls LOL

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Crochet Wire Necklaces :) on: April 27, 2011 04:21:48 PM
Ok, I saw these a little while ago and HAD to make them...they are soooo pretty ! I was amazed at how easy they are to do and how stunning they look when finished.

First up is a wide variety of glass beads...all shapes, sizes, and colors. I think it looks great with the randomness it has.

Next is the one I did on black artists wire using pink and gray dyed fresh water pearls. I'm in love with this one, big time.

I just did a basic single chain crochet 3 times then braided the crocheted strands together Smiley Easy Peasy !!
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Go Me !! My first oven mitts :) on: April 17, 2011 10:29:07 AM
I saw some of these in the OWS gallery and just HAD to try making them.

I love them, they're so cute and easy to make Smiley

Bamboo fabric and tan bias tape edging

Thanks for looking !
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Some shirts done this weekend :) on: April 17, 2011 10:26:23 AM
A RTW women's tee - put an adorable little peacock on the lower left front of the shirt

A RTW women's tee - tattered edge owl applique with batik fabric - I LOVE how this came out

C&C always welcome and appreciated.
10  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Some New Pendants :) on: April 17, 2011 10:21:55 AM
Just a few new pendants I pulled out of the kiln this morning !

Up first is : "Quod Me Nutrit, Me Destruit" - That which nourishes me, also destroys me. Love this pendant, I think the blue streaky glass looks so nice.

Next we have a 3 tone blue pendant with a pretty spring flower fused into the glass

Pink & Purple Sunset Smiley The calm before the storm

Kanji "Love" symbol - Earrings and pendant to match. Use dichroic clear glass on this one, it really gives the pieces a holographic, 3 dimensional look.

Close up so you can see the depth better

Hope you like them as much as I do. I almost hate when they come out so "just like I pictured" LOL It makes it hard to part with them !
