1  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap 70-72 Discussion thread ONLY! in New Swap Theme Ideas by Dawl on: June 10, 2011 05:28:56 AM

Oh dawl glad you are better now.  I hate spiders.  And this spring there seems to be sooo many of them.  Seriously, we sprayed the house inside and out for them and we were still seeing them.  Just sitting on the couch and bammm!  3 spiders crawling across the carpet.  I even had one on my shirt!  We sprayed again 2 days ago and havent seen any in the house since.

Thanks Smiley I'm still in a LOT of pain, omg I never knew a spider bite could end up so badly, it's not like we have widows here Sad Docs are guessing it was a brown recluse from the way the bite got sore, etc. UGGH ! I hate spiders.

Last night was my baby's graduation so now I officially have no kids left in school, wow that really makes me feel old LOL On the bright side though ....I was finally able to get a pic of DH wearing his jellyfish shirt Smiley

Here's DH and our baby after Commencement

This one is the both of us with Dillon and his GF Ashley - please excuse how horrid I look, it's been really rough week or two. Sad

Pics will be up today of the packages I got while laid up in the clink ( hospital )

2  Fur Baby Snuggle Sacks :) in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by Dawl on: May 27, 2011 11:22:59 AM
I just finished a few snuggle sacks for Jack, our baby opossum and a few other fur babes we know so I thought I'd share Smiley

First up is the man himself, Jack, modeling a small size sack in comic book word fabric and fleece lining. about 8"x8"

Next we have a more feminine snuggle sack the same size as Jack's. He refused to model this one since it was so girly ! Used a pretty blue/purple batik for the outer shell and a flowered blue fleece for the inside.

Now comes the medium size, this one is a few inches bigger all the way around. I'd say good for guinea pigs and the like Smiley Same fabric as Jack's sack...you get a better look of it here. This size is about 11"x11"

The large snuggle sack. Made for my son and DIL's ferret Bubbles Smiley this one is approx 14"x14"

The new addition is furry for sure Lindy, but for now all I'll say is....he's not a dog, cat, ferret, bunny, or any # of other fur babies you might be thinking of LOL

Sugar Glider?  I love those! Cheesy

OMG I used to have them, but not anymore Sad No he's not a sugar glider LOL Funny that you mention them though. I just gave the DGDs my sugar glider care book, they're trying to talk their mom into getting them one. They saw them a few weeks ago someplace and fell in love !

Here is the new baby in all his glory....all I can say is a crafter in this swap a few rounds back was psychic...she must have seen this little man in my future ! He doesn't have a name yet, he only came to live with me Sunday....he's so tiny he fits in the palm of my hand and is currently residing in my cleavage...just hangin out, keep warm, and sleeping like a baby Smiley

4  Hot/Cold Therapy Packs in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Dawl on: May 02, 2011 12:52:08 PM
It's not soap, lotion, or makeup, but I couldn't figure out where else these belonged !

I made these for the OWS a couple weeks ago. It's a complete hot/cold therapy pack set including the eye, neck, and slipper inserts Smiley

I used a cotton flannel for the outer fabric and they're filled with a mixture of flaxseed and rice. they're unscented, I think I might make a few more and add some lavender buds to the mix too.

6  New outfit for DGD #1 in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Dawl on: April 30, 2011 03:40:38 PM
So yesterday DGD #1 shows up with this super short, hootchy mama, denim skirt on. Her Pappy and I were not pleased and I informed her that before she went home that skirt would either be in the trash or redone into something I would let her leave the house in Smiley

Sooooooo, we cut the bottom hem off the skirt and I added a 6" ruffle of cute heart fabric that matched the printed hearts on the skirt. Then I took a RTW tee shirt and using the same heart fabric did a reverse applique heart on the shirt. She now has a "new" outfit out of an old skirt that was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too short !

She loves the new look and is thrilled that her Pappy approves too !

8  Jellyfish for DH ! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Dawl on: April 29, 2011 04:49:03 PM
I just finished this shirt up a little bit ago. It's McCalls 4079 - view C in size 2X

DH loves the hawaiian style shirts, but he's not a big fan of huge flowers like you see on so many of them. He's also tired of buying a shirt only to go out the next weekend and having someone say to him "Ohhh, hey ! Nice shirt, I have that same one at home"

So he decided he wanted some OOAK shirts for this summer. Here's the first one. He chose the fabric, I just put it all together lol

10  Re: Craft with a Fat Quarter Swap Gallery (SO 4/18/11) in The Swap Gallery by Dawl on: April 28, 2011 05:18:24 AM
I received my package from Earthie a few days ago...I had to laugh when I opened it, it's uncanny how much we thought alike when it came to constructing our packages.

She sent me a beautiful fabric covered photo album and fabric tile coasters with a vintage beach/sea themed print. OMGOSH I love them so much Smiley They'll be great in the sun room when we move in a few months.

The FQs she sent are at the top of the photo....and I'm thrilled she sent me a piece of that sea themed fabric, I have some wonderful projects in mind for that Smiley and a cute blue one too !
