That's awesome.  I love that you made it look well-worn, like it really is an old favorite coat that's lived in and comfortable, and seen many adventures.

I have a bulletin board that I covered with brown denim, kept it kind of plain, but in addition to sticking photos on it I have pins/buttons scattered around, too.  Some of them have tickets from events or holiday/birthday cards tucked behind them, and they do a pretty good job of holding them up. Cool  I love the fabrics you chose! Cool

That's so cute.  Did you have to use a pattern or something for that?  I'm kind of clueless about sewing.  Tongue

Wow, love it!  How cool is that.   Cool  I have a couple of old glass gallon jugs that would be really neat to make lamps of... may have to give that one a try!

Hey all!

First post here... I've mostly just been intermittently lurking for the past year or however long it's been since I signed up, but I guess that's changed now.  Cheesy  Wound up here again looking for ideas/how to posts for Valentine's Day gifts for the boyfriend, but in the mean time I figured I'd post about something I made him for his birthday, since I'm here.

It's a wooden gear clock, inspired by one we saw at an art gallery on one of our dates.  He loved it, so I tried to recreate something using the same idea.  Here's what I got:

getting all the gears cut out, and the numbers/letters burned into the wood

all the pieces cut out, just laying stuff out to see what works where

close-up of the hour gear

Not the best pic, but this is the finished project, stained, glued and hung!

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out... it's a functional, personal gift, and he loves it.
