1  Re: Dia de los Muertos / Mexican Folk Art Swap GALLERY (send outs 5/30) in The Swap Gallery by JPea on: August 14, 2011 08:42:43 AM
Hi everyone, just a quick post to say, the missing package - turned up!!  Last Wednesday it was delivered, and I was so so so so pleased!  I honestly thought someone had pinched it in transit.  But it was just taking it's sweet time to get here - I guess Canada to Leeds, is a long way after all.  Safe to say I absolutely adore everything Mamaedgar made for me - and am already using pretty much every part of it.  Without further ado - pictures!!
A Structured handbag - which as you can probably tell is already jammed full of my stuff - already received so many compliments on this - I love it!

An amazing wallet - which was just what I needed - the detail in this is awsome - loads of space for my cards, change and notes (not that there's ever many of those)

An amaaaasing crochet hair band with a skelly embroidered on it - I love this so much, sorry the pic is a bit blurry - I think I was feeling a bit blurry that day....

I don't think I've seen shrink plastic here in the UK, but I love these necklaces, I have worn the skull one already and can't wait to wear the other two

And on to the extras - I was really spoiled rotten:
Rubber skellys - currently adorning my craft room. and some offcuts, which I can't wait to use and some fancy buttons, which I'e already put on to hair clips!

Thanks again Mamaedgar, I love it all - so worth the wait.

Hi All,

Erica - I'm sorry to hear your sad news - it's awful when life throws these things at you. I hope you're doing OK.

My partner, Mamaedgar, has also been having a rough time of it of late, she received from me last week and asked me to post pictures.  It's taken me a few days, and the photos are a bit crumby, I was a little late finishing this up you see and really wanted to get it sent out on the 31st, so rushed them, but here goes:

We had chatted about things for the home and Mamaedgar had expressed a wish for an apron:

So I thought I'd make her a matching oven glove:

She had also posted this picture on her blog, it was one her and her husband bought on honeymoon in Mexico (sorry I AM a stalker *blush*) - so I made it into some placemats and coasters:

I know a few of us fell in love with the Felty Skellys - and my partner was no different, so I made her napkin rings and napkins to match - my favourite is the pirate :-) (ooh and threw in some Dolly Mixtures as well, you can just see in the background, she became addicted when visiting the UK hee hee)

And last but not least, a cross stitch, which is (one) of my favourite crafts / passions.  I really love this pattern, just downloaded from the net, I'll get the link if anyone is interested.

Sorry for a bit of a waffle there - I really enjoyed this swap.  And some of the amazing things coming up here in the gallery are beyond belief.  I hope you liked your package Mamaedgar and that lady luck turns your way soon
x x

Yusss I received yesterday from the fabulous KatMonstah and oh my gosh it is amazing, in fact it's going to get two postings.  One here and one in the Day of the Dead swap which I am partaking and I'll show you for why.....

Firstly it came in a teeny tiny pouch, which was stuffed with embroidery threads as packing - amazing.  Then when I opened it, it was wrappend in a little note and then... I squeee-ed, skulls!  My favourite!
Front: Back:
All my goodies - they are all going to get used!

My fav's - teeeny tiny skull beads!  And the smallest book I have ever seeen!  With loads of different pages and pictures including my pin-up girl!

Kat, I can't begin to thank you for the thoughtful-ness and time you have clearly put in to this.  You have been a great swap partner.  Thank you

5  Safety Pin Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by JPea on: May 04, 2011 12:57:01 PM
I used to make these loads when I was younger and they'd take me FOREVER.  I recently remembered how good they look, and I can make one in every colour to go with any outfit.  I suppose it is re-conned a bit as they are on safety pins.  Sorry for the rubbish pic, I will upload another if anyone wants to see a better one.

6  Re-decorated button top for my sis in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by JPea on: May 04, 2011 12:53:24 PM
So my sister came to me with this top - it had studs glued to it, which kept coming off in the wash, but she loved the shape of it.  So it killed my nails, but i picked off the remaining studs and turned to my nana's button jar and this is what happened!  She loves it, and so do I, gotta make one for myself now!!

Hi Everyone,

So I received from Marleymiss over the weekend I think, but I was away, so It was waiting for me when I got home on Monday night and it is beautyous!  It's a embroidery hoop of a mandrake!  I put them down as my favourite magical creature, because I love the scene in the film when they pull them up and Neville's face is a picture!

Thanks Marleymiss I absolutely love it - I knew you were great at embroidery from my mini  stalking session, but the detail on this is fantastic!

P.S - Thanks everyone for a great first swap - I now officially have the swap bug and am joining the matchbox swap!

9  A couple 'o' bag presents in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by JPea on: September 03, 2010 01:31:56 PM
Evening all,

All I seem to do at the moment is craft for presents....not that i mind of course, if i'm crafting for presents then at least i can get away from the 'fabric guilt'  of all the beautiful fabric I bought to make myself lovely dress and as of yet...haven't  *ahem* anywaaay moving on.  Bags....

Number 1 - a birthday clutch for my friend Hannah.  Turned out a little smaller then I had wanted, but then again, i love big clutch's.  Would double the size next time.  All made out of scraps of material and one mahoosive button of course

Number 2 - a pump-bag for my god-daughter, don't know about the rest of you, but its back to school time here in the UK.  And you need a pump-bag, for your pumps, obviously.  Its also her birthday and she is 9 so i thought she'd appreciate this.  Old towel + felt = pump-bag

10  Present for a baby girls Baptism in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by JPea on: September 03, 2010 12:57:09 PM
Hi All,

I was racking my brains what to make for a babies baptism - I couldn't attend, and thought the family would do all the religious stuff so I made the below - easiest elasticated skirt ever from some old pajama bottoms of mine (shh! dont tell anyone)  Then to personalise it sewed her name on in felt - turned out better then I had imagined and apparently she loves it!  Although she's only 5 months, so i'm not sure how she loves it, but she does!  Cheesy
