1  Re: Slow Cloth / Boro Patches - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Sharalee on: December 08, 2018 05:20:20 PM
Wow what gorgeous patches! That landscape is just awesome ! "Averia" those patches
Are totally cool. I received from "Averia" too & will show them at the end.
The denim patches I love them. Boy that's a lot of tiny stitches, but it's worth it.
Ok here's the pics I said i would show you all. They've beautiful  too.

The kitty in the middle is so sweet & the other one with the Butterflies is great too. Thanks so much "Averia"

Wow "LadybugAndBumBees" I received these beautiful patches! Thanks so much!!! I  loved them all, but I think I love the Butterfly one the best. So many tiny stitches. Very cool. I have  to figure out where I'm going to put them on & keep adding to it or put them on something special.

3  Re: Boro embroidery patches? in New Swap Theme Ideas by Sharalee on: September 14, 2018 03:23:52 PM
This sounds great! What I  have gathered & look at is that it's just pieces of fabrics of linen & jean that I see the most, it's different sizes squares and some strips and hand sewed on top together in a running stitch to make one kind of sheet of fabric. Then you can put other elements on too, like birds, trees, animals, Insects, houses etc. I like the idea! Any time is good for me!  Anyway that's what it looks like to me. This is new to me, but I like it. I did see one where they glued the edges down. I kind of liking that, to not tuck under. But either way is fine. I love hand sewing. Here's some pics of what I found.

5  Re: Re: 2017 DeStash Along in Craftalongs by Sharalee on: April 26, 2018 11:01:50 AM
You all have been busy bees!  The random scrappy placemats are gorgeous, and I love the fun prints.  Randomness can definitely be more difficult.

Some things for swaps that I made from stash have been received so now I can post about them.  Two reticules (old fashioned purses) are from bridesmaid dresses that had full skirts,  hence lots of fabric to play with - which is a good thing considering that several failed attempts were made before the final products.

This was the most meaningful and trickiest project.  I used the packaging from a cell phone to frame a map of where the couple first met.

A few items for another Craftster.  The mugrug fabric is printed to look like it is pieced.  The tree ornament has layers of fringed fabric.

MIL had a garage sale and she graciously unloaded fabric and quilters' rules my way.  Now to get started on projects for next Christmas.
I hope everyone is having an awesome Holiday Season, however you celebrate!
"JS" I love all that you sent me. I love the mug rug colors & I needed a new one. My other one was getting pretty old. I didn't put this on here because I didn't know if you wanted me too! But I really appreciated it!!!☺

6  Re: Junk Journal-along 2018 - Let's keep on making books! in Craftalongs by Sharalee on: January 26, 2018 06:55:26 PM
Thanks for the kind comments "Mandykaye", "alwaysinmyroom", & "Smmarrt". ✨I finished the Junk Journal I was working on. This is for my sister-in-law she heard about the one I made my Sis & so I said I'd make her one too. Not really no theme, but they love cats. I put a few cat stickers & she can put pics of their cat in there too!!! ✨☺

I hope this is OK to put this mini junk journal in here. This is for my Sister, she just had surgery so I wanted to cheer her up. I've made several in the past couple months. I'm working on one right now. I love your junk journals "Smmarrt" they are so well design & fun! ☺✨ I'll put the one I'm working on now in here soon.

8  Aeroplane bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Sharalee on: October 30, 2017 09:56:25 PM
It's kind of like the weekender bag. I made this for my partner in "Make a bag & Fill it Swap". She said she liked it. ☺ It was a little hard & my old sewing machine😣 didn't want to go over the thick seams. But I got it made.😊 On one side it had a zipper pouch with a Panda charm. The other side I made pockets across, so she'd have more of them. I bought a tiny zip bag I put a few more charms in it.  I also made a zipper pouch with a Locke & key charm, small handmade card pouch & a handmade toy bear for her little boy, lip chap holder & ring to hold keys on, a mini junk album, & I bought a small embroidery kit of a monkey. A few other little things. Thanks for looking! ☺

Here is another purse that I forgot to post. I made it for Bunny1kenobi for Christmas. The lighting was horrible in the winter at my house so please excuse the terrible photos.

She wanted lots of pockets and compartments but she wanted to keep it slim and a crossbody purse. I thought this pattern fit the bill.
The two main sides pull apart and you have an easy access pocket in the middle with two pockets on each side. Two magnetic snaps hold it in place. And please ignore my messy floors and the cat hair. I have 5 cats, it's impossible.  Roll Eyes

See? I was having to hold her back the entire time I took pics.  Roll Eyes

Each side panel then opens up via a zipper on the top and each of these have a pocket inside.

The strap is adjustable and crossbody style. It also has another zippered pocket on the outside. After I was finished I wished I would have done this zipper in red. Next time! I love this fabric too. Bunny1kenobi picked it out and I happened to already have some on hand. Yay for the stash!

At this point my kitty, Dahlia, was getting mad that the bag was getting attention and she wasn't.  Cheesy
Bunny1 seemed to like it. I hope she does. It was a challenging pattern at first. I think I psyched myself out on it.  Tongue
Thanks for checking it out! Grin Grin Grin
Great bag "gozer" I like the shape of it & that it's an crossover bag & lots of pockets. The fabric is neat too! I might have to try that pattern. 😉

10  Re: Re: IT IS MADE on a COTTON REEL! in Vintage Craft Projects by Sharalee on: October 23, 2017 01:27:16 PM
Another one from "The Book of Good Needlework".

Here's a link to one you can enlarge enough to read the text:

I remember making those with my Mom when I was 7 or 8. We used a wood spool & she hammer 4 small nails in. I had a lot of fun doing that. I can't remember what I made with it. It could coil into a rug. It kept me busy. I also cut up old socks & braided them into a rug. All the old things are neat now & it was fun, instead of all these plastics junk they have now!☺
