1  Re: Junk Journal Swap - SU: Apr12-Apr21, SO: May22 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Sharalee on: June 08, 2017 09:09:11 PM
I'm going post pics of the Junk Journal I made for "stefaniegk for her as she has been busy. I hope nothing is wrong & she is  well.
I went with her Scotish dog theme & a little whimsy. The cover Is burlap on the outside & doggie print on the inside. I glued & stamped the burlap on. Then I put the doggie fabric I had on the inside & handsewn it on. The cover was just a cardboard piece I had. Then I made 2 signatures, I coffee dyed several papers & paper dollies & some cards, tags old envelopes I save from the mail etc. There was about 20 pages of the different things I mention in each signature. I made 3 holes in the both signatures. I clamp them all together then sewed the signature & put some beads & a charm on each end & tied a bow. She could use them to mark a page. Then after I got both signatures done I sewed them into the cover I had made holes in the cardboard & then again in the fabric. I got them all done. Then the fun really began by putting things on the pages. I cut out different things like a Scottie dog, some flowers & other dogs too. A paragraph of where Scottie dogs came from. I put in 2 fun papersacks in there & pockets & one fabric pocket I glued in. I made a few paper flowers & some small evelopes. Another thing I  made 2 mini albums. One has a Scottie dog on it & a tuck spot with plain tags there & 5 pages another mini with a rose on it & 5 pages, just for notes or to put pics in. Some stickers & we desided to give extras. So I gave some of my coffee dyed papers & dollies & some pretty papers, some  color pages I copied from a book I had, some buttons, charms & a few stickers that you can write with chalk, more stickers & several other things I had. I just couldn't stop. It was hard to give away. But I knew she would like it. I really had fun  making this junk journal. ☺

2  Re: Purse swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by Sharalee on: May 30, 2017 10:22:11 AM
I'm bringing this up again to see if anyone could please  organize this swap. I'm not good at organizing. But this would be so fun. This was the first Swap I was in here on Craftster. It was really  fun & I even made my partner a small Teesha Moore patch bag, besides a bigger bag & some other things. It was fun deciding what my partner wanted  from her questionnaire & what I could do to make it happen. There were lots interesting designs & patterns I looked through. ☺ This is the small TM Patch bag I made her.

I received from "stefaniegk" today that came fast! It's so cute. I love dragonflies & lots of pages. She also gave me some dragonfly stickers & other ones too. Also some little cards. It'll be fun maybe to put my crafter cards in. Not sure yet. Or maybe all neat & different ideas I saw on how to make them. So here's the pics.
Thanks "stefaniegk" for being my partner it was a lot of fun. Yours will be coming soon! Also want to thank "geekgirl1000100" for organizing! 😄

Thanks "Smmarrt" & "calluna" for the sweet comments & we'll wishes. I'm better. My left hand got the worst of it, my eye didn't hurt much. Just when I try to rub my eye then it's sore. But I'm doing better. This is me! Ha, Ha what a dope I am! 😄

Since everyone has received my card. So here is my card. I started with my potrait I had done in Paris on the Seine River. It was so fun my husband had his done too. We had 2 different artist. It took them about 20 to 30 mins to sketch them.
Then I made it smaller like wallet size. Cut them all out. Then I made my info on the back & cut them out Then glued both front & back on card stock that I cut out too!  Then stamp the Paris Eiffel Tower over the print. Buff the dark ink on it & a sticker & wrote how many & what #it was & I was done. So much fun!  Maybe next time I'll put my baby or a little older pic in. 😊

Ok I have my pics ready for both my partners packages taken & all so lovely. 😊They  both went for my theme Hairstylist, for which I've retired from & there both so cool. OK here's
The Steampunk one is so cool too, with the gears for the hairstyle so neat & the tiny stitching! Wow, "Abbeeroad" is that a single thread? & the Dryer one. I have that dryer so cool. I really love them. Oh my gosh the kit with the charms & gears are to die for. Thanks so much & all the pretty fabrics. You must of painted or stamp some of those. Just amazing. 😉

Ok now "fatewineroses" She did such amazing patches too. Another patch about a Hairstylist & so neat more of those tiny stitches. I love it, also that Owl is just fabulous, I love owls & sewn different on the sides &  more pretty fabric from the kit, love the map fabric & some lace & heart shape ribbons, pretty stones & beads. Just totally awesome!😉

I'm going to make a tote & little coin pouch for my Sister's Birthday coming soon, so going to put 2 charms on them. I pick out for her tote & pouch. She'll love them.
Thanks so much, you 2 amazing partners! ☺💓⚘

Well I have some pics of my sewing spaces. They're not pretty. Not like yours "craftylittlemonkey" I wish! LOL!

This is my sewing room with my Mother's Singer sewing machine that doesn't work very well. All my junk of things in there. The other pics our out in the bigger area all downstairs. Then I have my other new machine upstairs & more things all around. I do use most of what I have to make my things. So I don't have to shop very often. I do go to the goodwill & find somethings there, like zippers, kits, embroidery thread, yarn, patterns & ribbons etc.
I did redo a old gym bag & put lining in it & fleese & even some pockets for my husband for Christmas present. He liked it.

Oh my ladies, "BeaG" your Warehouse/Craftroom is Awesome. I've tried to do something like that, but never really did. I do need to get organized. I have put pics on a long time ago. Not much has changed. I have my crafts supplies in all most every room. I have a sewing room downstairs & outside of that is another large room with another sewing machine & 2 tables & 1 card table & a roller. So I like to keep things out so I can see most of them or I  forget. I do have bins & rollers. But my sewing room it's a mess. I have my Mom's old machine that works but not very good. So have another one out on the table in the bigger room. Also a newer one upstairs that I got for Christmas a few yrs ago & I use it the most. Because I have trouble going up & down the stairs!   These are before & after pics of our kitty/ironing room.  The stairs is hard for me. But I can do it. Then I like to stay down there for awhile & do the wash & sew or go through my things. I try to put things in order but eventually it doesn't get back where it is supposed to. I'll try to take pics & show you all, it's a disaster especially my sewing room. I need to destash for sure! I have more things upstairs closer to my chair & sewing machine. It's easier that way. ☺
