2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: How many ounces go in to the average skein? on: December 30, 2014 04:37:10 PM
i tend to spin singles and i get 240 yards of sock weight out of 4 ounces of bfl or merino. Again though its is hard to answer because different  fibers weight different things.  and  i think each different spinner will get a different yardage out of 4 oz. i tend to get my fibers on etsy. so many yummy fibers on there .

i recieved yesterday. I got so so so spoiled by my partner.

the prayer beads are so beautiful. the picture truely can't do them justice. I wonder if there were any paticular stones used in making them. I loved the fabric they came wrapped in, the bag that everything came in was awesome.

the necklace is even more awesome and some earnings that im going to wear tomorrow to celebrate samhain.the extras were cool as well Smiley

thank you to whileitsraining for being a wonderful partner

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / shawl to go with dress for party on: December 07, 2013 08:48:19 AM
i decided that i wanted a black lace shawl to go with the dress is made to go to  a party with my best friend . I got all of the items done in the last month. im a bit burnt but know that i will enjoy the results

i knitted the feather duster pattern Susan Lawrence

in some scrumptious  Rowan Kidsilk Haze Eclipse it was black and sparkly. just what all girls need.

i only have one picture. i kinda messed up on the pattern....i didn't bind off properly , apparently there are different ways of binding off in knitting. big lesson to learn. however i saved it by blocking it out and using the bottom edge as the top and the top edge as the bottom. woot for creative ways of fixing mess ups .
here is the picture that i posted on ravelry
