1  Dancing baby groot in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Ankhored on: December 05, 2014 08:24:21 PM
So a friend asked me to make her a little dancing baby groot figurine and I had no idea what she meant ! After some research its all I hear being talked about Smiley So I made a largish one for her and then a few smaller ones just because I was having fun Smiley

Its made from a thick wire armature with a little bit of alfoil padding. Then polymer clay sculpted over the top and hand painted. I added in a few fake vines/leaves and sprouts too from fake plants. Baby groot sits in a pot thats filled with floral foam with stones glued on top Smiley

This little guy is about 14cm tall including pot

This one is 18cm tall including pot

and this one is about 14cm tall including pot (groot is small - about 9cm tall)

Even though I havent seen the movie yet, I still think the character is a bit cute and I think I will have to keep one for myself Smiley

Ok, I have busy crafting and have a build up of projects finished that I can now add.

Prompt:  Battle Royal September --> Team Boardgame !!

Project Name: Fun Fair Counters
Project Link:
Brief Description: It was hard to choose between boardgames and computer games - but I had a perfect project in mind.
About 8 years ago my cousin and I were reminiscing about a board game we used to play as kids. Its called Fun Fair, by Waddingtons. Our parents must have thrown it away as we grew older and we were devastated not to be able to find it anywhere to buy.. So we decided to make it ourselves.  It took us about 6 years to complete becuase we stopped and started so many times, and we both had children which put on a stop on its construction for a few years. Then I decided for the challenge that I could fully complete the make by creating the playing counters for each player to use - and make them based on some of the squares from the game.  So I picked the Fat Lady, Rabbit in the Magic Hat, the Flea Circus and the Crazy House.
The counters are hand made out of polymer clay and then hand painted.
Here is a link to the original boardgame we remade : http://www.retroactive-vintage-games.com/retroactive-store-item.asp?stockID=165
And here is a pic of the counters I made, and the board game we made is in the picture too Smiley

Project Name: Ah-Choo !
Project Link:
Brief Description:  Does anyone remember the old computer game Grannys Garden? We were obsessed with it as kids. We played it all the time until the disk suddenly didnt work Sad It was a sad day.. But I was researching pixel art ideas and remember the game - which was a pixel game like space invaders. So I was lookign up pictures from the game and stumbled across a picture of one character I loved from the game (and had forgotten about) its AH-Choo !!!  Smiley
So I made his pixelated form out of polymer clay and painted in the face. I put him on black backing and painted the words on. It matches a screen shot from the game and I put it on the magnet board about my workdesk Smiley

3  Name Art in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Ankhored on: September 27, 2014 11:55:46 PM
I use pinterest and pin so many wonderful ideas but never get around to making them. So I told myself to pick one of my pins and make something based on the idea. The idea was to make a work or object out of pipe cleaners or wire and then wrap it in string /wool for a nice effect.  I used pipe cleaners and decided to do my daughters name for her room.
This is my completed piece :

I created her name out of joined piper cleaners. and then found some mesh ribbon and started wrapping. The colours I chose were purple, pink and green but when i finished, I didnt link the purple or green so I decided to add other shades of pink over the top.

I then needed a backing for the name, so I got a piece of cardboard and some purple wool and I wrapped it around the cardboard, first one way and then the other, and tied it at the back so that I could hang it

And then I glued the name onto the front. Finished !

Project Name: No Sew Felt Fairy Picture
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=435519.0#axzz3COEICrNy
Brief Description: I made this for my daughter for her room. I had a lovely frame lying around and decided to make her a fairy picture to put inside. Im not a fantastic drawer or sewer ,so decided to do it out of felt and glue Smiley No Sewing.
I drew a basic picture design, and cut out the larger pieces to use as a template for the felt, and then cut out the smaller parts free hand. Then I laid it all in place and glued it down ! From start to finish it took me about 40 minutes to do.

5  No Sew Felt Fairy Picture in Completed Projects by Ankhored on: September 04, 2014 08:32:29 PM
Im not fantastic are drawing/painting and Im not perfect at sewing either.
So I thought I would design a picture for my daughters room and make it out of felt - with no sewing Smiley
Hence posting this in the Misc Section becuase Its all cut and glue craft Smiley

First I drew a basic picture that would fit in the frame I had

Then I cut out the main pieces to use as a template to cut the felt pieces out

Then I did the smaller felt parts free hand, and laid it out as I went to make sure it all fit. Then I got the trusty craft glue out and stuck it all in place Smiley

My design changed slightly as I went along but I like the final piece and so does my daughter Smiley

 Thanks for looking Smiley

Research Project Name: Dolls House Display Shelf
Team: Randomiser !!!
Brief Description:  I bought this little compartment shelf at a fair a few years ago and thought it would be cool to turn it into a miniature dolls house wall display. This is as far as I got and its been sitting waiting to be finished for over 2 years now.

My Research Project is to FINISH it !  I need to finish the carpets/rugs/tiles, do more painting, glue in the furniture Ive purchased, design and make more furniture to fill every room, make wall decorations and room decorations....add all the finer details.

I propose it will take me more than 3 weeks to complete this, but Im happy that something is motivating me to finally finish it!

7  Re: Zombie, Pirates, and Ninjas Ornaments: Craftalong for Christmas 2010 in Craftalongs by Ankhored on: January 05, 2011 04:30:10 AM

Hello ! Well, I did end up finishing all 12 ornaments.

 November: Um. Hair.
I was a little lazy with this one as I almost ran out of time
to do it before giving them as a gift to a friend.

And December : Wild Card, but show us your tree with the ornaments!
- My wildcard make is Sack Boy from LBP with a christmas costume on Smiley
He was one of my favorite ornaments out of them all

Here are all of my ornaments together :

I gave them all to a friend for christmas. So I didnt get to take a photo of them on my tree.
I wrapped up each gift individually and put a label with the month and the theme attached.
My friend got to open one gift a day over a 12 day period in December and she hung them on her tree Smiley

Im going to do it again this year - and my friend wants to do it aswell,
we will swap our ornaments at the end of the year
Except..I need new themes for each month...

?? Smiley

Well... It is a pity that no one else ended up doing this Christmas Ornament thingo.
But I figured that since I was the only one doing it that I may as well stick it out and finish it Smiley
So here is :

  September : Underwhere ? Under There !

Santa has a secret underneath his big red suit

He likes to feel a little sexy underneath it all

Cheeky, Santa   Grin

and October : Creative Creatures

This one is a little weird - I'll completely admit that Smiley But I had no inspiration..

My creative creature is :  'If Aliens mated with Humans'

November and December to go..
