41  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Birch tree accent wall help on: February 27, 2012 08:39:35 AM
I love Once Upon a Time on ABC and the mayors black and white office. we're looking for a new house and I want to have the wall behind our bed covered in birch trees. on ebay they have some stick on decals and a really expensive mural. I was wondering of any of you guys had other ideas or sources. I don't want to paint a whole birch forest since we are renting and I'd want to take it with me.

46  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Disney Princess dresses on: December 27, 2011 02:08:42 PM
My boyfriends 3 year old little girl loves dresses, princesses and Disney. The ones in the stores are to cheap looking and poorly made. So for Christmas I made her four dresses to go with the matching doll.

Most of the fabric is reconned.

Sleeping Beauty's dress. Made in an hour on Christmas eve morning. the organza and the liner for the skirt was a David's bridal cast-off from goodwill and the bodice lining is from a botched dye job

Cinderella  I finished this dress in October the bodice is cotton velvet from my Great Grandmother, the outer skirt is from an old prom dress and the lining is acetate from walmart.

Belle's dress is made out of a yellow egyptian cotten sheet from a thrift store.

Snow White, the skirt is the same egptian cotton as Belle's dress only dyed darker and the bodice is alot of odds&ends from my stash

All of the dresses are big on purpose so she can have them for a couple of years.

You did a great job! I love fabric flowers, they're a great way to use scraps.

How many of you still have unfinished projects that need to be done for Christmas presents?
I still have to iron my boyfriends quilt, create a Sleeping Beauty dress for a 3 year old And make accessories for my two friends Christmas gifts. To top it off my bag of hot glue sticks has run away.
