31  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help for a leather couch? on: March 25, 2012 09:02:23 PM
Faux leather would be your best bet, it runs about 11.99 a yard on ebay. If you live near a fabric store you could cut a swatch to bring and match.

This is so adorable! Good job. Circle skirt hemming is worth the effort if you have a hemming tool, its a metal plate with a curved edge and a flat edge with inch markers. But I still cheat on hems whenever I can get away with it.
33  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitted wedding dress fiber question on: March 25, 2012 11:01:16 AM
So I'm not engaged or even close but like every girly-girl  I comb through wedding magazines and such for "future reference"  I always planned on making my own wedding dress, but I never thought about knitting one...til I stumbled on this pattern
http://www.interweave.com/images/imagesknit/img_knit/Wedding_Gown.pdf

My question is what other fibers could I use to create the floaty lace effect besides wool? (wool doesn't seem summery to me) I was thinking silk or rayon, maybe bamboo. I just don't have enough lace knitting experience to gauge lightness.

34  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: rug punch search on: March 20, 2012 06:39:34 PM
I've seen so many beautiful designs that would work as rugs, but I lack the patience and fortitude to do it in needle point or hand punch.

I have an Easy Punch embroidery machine, I wonder if that would take too long to make a 3x5 rug?

It looks expensive, like something a rockstar would wear. I'm hitting this rocks!
38  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / rug punch search on: March 09, 2012 01:50:48 PM
I'm searching for an electric rug punch. The home crafter kind not the industrial $5000 kind
on a web search I pulled up three. but they sold in 2008 on ebay and etsy.

I love your dining room! That table is awesome. The curtains are really snazzy.
40  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Birch tree accent wall help on: March 04, 2012 07:43:49 AM
I found a metallic birch wallpaper here
http://blinds-wallpaper.net/wallpaper/WALLPAPER/TREES-AND-PLANTS/TREES/Birch-Tree-Grey-Wallpaper/prod_2705.html   for $68 a roll that covers 50 sq. ft. It's not pre-pasted so I might try spray adhesive .

I think I might do the whole house black and white with little splashes of color.
