91  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Easiest skirt ever made on: March 24, 2010 03:44:03 PM
Hey! So I had this crazy pink and blue striped material, and decided to use some to make this skirt.. too easy! haha. I didnt hem it (top or bottom) its stretchy enough I didnt have to add an elastic or zipper.. all I did was sew one stitch.. thats right! ONE down the back, and pulled the extra material over, pinned it on each hip and added a little bow made out of matching blue fishnet and a glittery star button.

The stripes probably make my butt look HUGE but I dont care, haha. I love it. Super comfy but really think so gotta get something to wear underneath.. thus the silly pink tights in the pictures.

Please let me know what you think Smiley

92  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Necktie wristcuffs on: March 23, 2010 05:55:23 PM
Hey guys! A SUPER quick project that I know Im going to love showing off.

I recycled an old tie I had into a set of wristcuffs.. I dont know if anyone else put up something like this before or not (not that it matters though Tongue) but I think theyre quite groovy and Im going to wear them to death.

Let me know what you think!
Thanks for looking Smiley
93  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Patchwork/Gibbous inspired top hat? pic heavy on: March 23, 2010 03:49:54 PM
So I have this obsession with tophats.. and I always wanted to make one. And then I discovered (through people mentioning it here) Gibbous, and wanted to make something kind of like that too.. so I ended up with a very strange tophat that I just adore!!! I used black denim and a red and black plaid material, and interfacing inside the brim and for the top part of the hat.
You can also see when I have the hat turned upside down to show the side of the brim, that I have a ring inside where I was going to put boning to keep the shape (but it ended up being not needed) and also you can see that I get lazy sometimes and dont change the thread in my serger to match what Im making.. haha.. oops!

Anyway, please let me know what you think  Cheesy

Would have gotten better action shots but its hard to take a picture of yourself wearing a hat..

some of the patchwork and the brim

one of my favorite parts

check it out, olive green thread.. haha. but you cant see it when you wear it and thats the important part!
94  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Comicbook Underbust Corset (more pics pg 3) on: March 15, 2010 02:18:26 PM
I wasn't really sure on whether to put this in the reconstructed section or general, cause it is using recycled/upcycled comicbook pieces but thats the only recon part.. oh well. If its in the wrong place Im sure someone will let me know!
Anyway! on to the top. Underbust corset that I made, its lined with a white denim, and pictures from comicbooks that I had (I grab alot of comics when I go to any store, especially the free ones, you never know what you will get with those!

The comic is wedged between some vinyl so it wont rip/tear, and should be generally easy to clean by hand.
PLEASE let me know what you think.
More pictures!

95  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Tutu for the goth/punk/rocker :P on: March 13, 2010 03:42:17 PM

96  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / GIR hat (Invader Zim) on: March 01, 2010 06:47:14 PM
Made a hat to honour Gir from Invader Zim.. if you've seen the cartoon you will understand how awesome this character is. This is actually the 2nd one I made, the first pattern I made didn't come out very well so I had to revise it. Questions/comments welcome.

PS: Sorry, its kind of hard to see the whole thing. There are ears attached, but my arms aren't long enough to get a good shot of me wearing it and I have nothing else to put it on Tongue
97  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / The Used and Misfits tops on: February 24, 2010 07:49:33 PM
A 'The Used' reconstructed shirt, XL guys shirt, some stretch knit, red tulle and grommet tape.

And a 'Misfits' XL tee, and grommet tape turned new again!

Sorry for the crappy lighting on these.

Let me know what you think ^^
98  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My attempt at a record purse ^_^ on: February 24, 2010 07:40:27 PM
I'd seen a couple record purses out there and started working on mine about a week ago. Made out of a culture club album and a 'we are the world' album by USA for Africa...

before the records went on... just showing the lining I put in.

put some studs on the bottom so it would sit a little off of a surface (dont you hate puting something down at a restaurant/bar and getting gross all over it? I sure do)

Culture Club side

Aaaaand the other side
The purse itself is something I made from scratch, and then I glued the records onto the side using heavy duty glue... and threw my guitar strap on as a strap for the purse cause I got really lazy thought it would be fitting to have a fender strap...

Questions/comments welcome! Would love some feedback!!
99  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Plaid top, stencilled sleeveless top and bikini top! Oh my! on: February 23, 2010 07:34:40 PM
Hey there, first time to actually post something I made so I figured Id shove a few things in here all at once! ^^;

I was so excited to use this red plaid material it was unfit. I held onto it for YEARS waiting for its perfect use (I only had a very narrow strip and it only stretched one way so I had to be careful Tongue) side panneling is fishnet just cause. The back is just a plain black tshirt material and on the straps I added some studs, which keep falling off.. but thats another matter! I think they will have to be glued on cause they just continually slip out of the material and need to be put back in again...

Sorry about the necklace being in the way, I didnt have a good picture of the shirt without it... anyway, simple top made out of (again) tshirt material, the hard part of this top was designing the damn stencil.. then cutting it out.. twice (for a mirror image) and then putting it on the shirt and painting it and hoping it was symmetrical!!!

last is this funky reversable bikini top I made.. one side is lycra, the other black PVC, ties around the neck in the back and in the front with some D rings.

Thanks for looking, questions and comments welcome.

PS: I make all my patterns from scratch, if youre wondering.
100  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Help! Trying to construct paper cuff bracelets. on: February 23, 2010 03:29:38 PM
Ive been wanting to do this for a while.. I see stores selling bracelets out of old papers and I always wanted to use lets say, pictures out of old calendars, or magazine pictures and make cuffed bracelets out of them. I know some people cover the paper in packing tape for the coating but I cant get it on neatly. Anyone every make something like this? What do you use? Im thinking either laminating the pictures or getting clear vinyl and sewing it on that way.. wondering which might work better.
