11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Giant Butterfly Stole or Shawl in filet includes free pattern! on: July 31, 2015 07:31:13 AM
Looks cool!  I bet a multi-colored version, particularly the wings, would be neat-o too.

I made this in a solid color but I'll bet a multi colored yarn would work. I know there is a way to use 2 colors of yarn, like graphghan. Maybe I can figure it out. Smiley

I love this kind of crochet. Nicely done!

Thank you! I love designing using the filet stitch.

Here is a big beautiful butterfly to show off! I used normal worsted weight yarn, the filet stitch and an I/6mm hook. You work the chart vertically for ease of construction. It goes fast and you can probably make it in a weekend

And here it is full length

15  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: DC in the round... big holes! help! on: April 16, 2015 08:15:11 AM
Hi, Not knowing what you're making, may I assume that the ch 3 is standing in for the dc at the beginning of the round? If so, try a ch 2. That might make a difference.

20  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: How to graph into a crochet pattern I am trying to design on: March 01, 2015 02:59:48 PM
That sounds like a small canvas your working on, but it can be done. Are you using single crochet as the stitch pattern? You need to know how many stitches by how many stitches, for example, 10 across by 10 down. Do you have graph paper? Do you have a design that has been scaled down to fit the space? Trace the design on the graph paper and then using a minimal number of colors, color it in. I will be glad to help you make your pattern if you would PM me.
