1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Stenciled Jordy! on: April 13, 2004 06:53:39 PM
so since i'm addicted to making these jordy bags, Thought i'd share my two lastest..

I got this thick fabric at walmart, in the remnant bin, which i'm normally not fond of because it's usually a rip off.
Anyhow this fabric is white and furry on one side, and on the other side it's really rough and almost vinyl-y. I have no idea what it is.. But i got enough to make these two purses for 25 cents!!!!! Can you belive that???!?!

On to the pictures.. This first one is a purse I made for a friend of mine.. Complete with skull and star appliques.

And here is one i just finsished for myself, Same design as the first, Just a tad taller, With an added stencil!!

i am so in love with this thing!!

I put plastic canvas in the bottoms of the purses, And they stand up just perfect!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Keyboard wrist Rest on: April 12, 2004 12:49:42 AM
Just wanted to share my ingenious idea.. haha

So everytime I've been to walmart I've caught myself drooling over these..

Your basic gel wrist rest = $19.95

Me being poor and a student realized hey.. I can make that!

So it's not gell but here it is in all it's glory..

Excuse the dirty keyboard!

All I did was cut two peices on fabric the same size, into a shape of about what I remebered them looking like, and made it a little shorter than my keyboard, sewed it, leaving a hole for the rice, Then turned it inside out, Which wasn't as bad as I had imagined!! Then i filled it with rice and sewed the hole up.

I am very pleased and my wrists are happy...

I suppose if i did some research on the net someone probably already makes these.. But it brightened up my Easter Wink

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Mucked up shirt on: March 22, 2004 10:35:40 PM
Alright so i took my favorite shirt.. and instead of doing what i wanted.. a stencil.. i chose the short route.. iron on hell.. Well i guess i didn't do it right, and maybe my iron had muck on it? because all around the area of the iron on.. is nasty looking gray.. on a white white shirt.. BAH! I'm so depressed over this.. grrr..
So is there anything i can do to fix it? so i can wear my favorite shirt again?

will dye dye over the iron on in between the wings? I think a tea/coffee dye would look aweosme.. if it will cover right
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / tactical sewing apron on: March 22, 2004 12:16:05 AM
This didn't start out as an apron i don't even remeber what is started out as.. just remeber seeing this darling *pink* fabric in my scraps box every time i dug for fabric. No this isn't my best job.. I plan on making another good one soon.. But i thought the idea was pretty swell.
I'm always losing my scissors!! ALWAYS!! So I made myself a Tactical Sewing Apron. Heh.

That's what it looks like on

Despite the fact I look amazingly pregant here.. I promise it's just my pj's.. lol

And this is it laying out flat.

My next one i plan on making a few more pockets, and A different way of fastening.
The reason I like this is it's small and cozy and fits well when i sit.. So it's not always in my way or hanging on my knees Smiley

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Apron type halter top! on: March 10, 2004 02:47:50 AM
Okay so again The weather has been so nice I've decided to make some sumer-y tops! Here's my latest, I didn't use a pattern.. But judging by the way the sides cut in.. I should prolly buy one.. Smiley

8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Swoops containers on: March 08, 2004 12:04:44 AM
Just wondering if anyone else is saving these swoops containers??
don't know what i'm going to do with them..
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Drawstring skirt on: March 02, 2004 06:35:43 PM
So- This was supposed to be an easy peasy skirt that I was going to run up in like an hour.. Well that didn't happen..  Embarrassed

It looks ok.. But after i put the drawstring in and put it on.. I notice a large "poof" in the front.. example:

Basically it's got too much fabric.. But i don't want to redo the whole thing.. because i don't have anymore of this fabric.. which my camera washed out btw.

Here is what i want it to look like

What did i do wrong? ANd is it fixable?
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / One Shoulder Tank tutorial on: March 01, 2004 08:01:48 PM
I had a great idea from a picture I had seen from almost three years ago. I love the way the one strap wraps around, plus i just love tank tops!!
Although this may not be for the bigger busted girls out there, I say go for it! Wink

and here is my shirt Smiley

Yeah Don't  mind the ugly face making.. heh

I didn't use a pattern for this and I am a beginner sewer so take it easy on me!

ps. Yes I did dye my hair red! Thanks for noticing Smiley
I'm such an idiot..
