21  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / My dog as Frida Kahlo on: November 03, 2016 05:59:26 PM
Let me preface this by saying that I do not have any kids.  I am thankful I have patient dogs that let me dress them on Halloween and for our annual Christmas card.

This year, Stella was ready to greet Trick or Treaters as Frida Kahlo - - and it cost less than $5.00!!

I bought "Party Mustaches" at the Dollar Store a couple of years ago - - it just seemed funny - - "Party Mustaches" - well, they definitely came in handy to use as eyebrows!  The flower picks were .97 cents and had 5 buds each - - I purchased child's headband for .25 cents and first glued flowers onto a piece of felt (so I could get a nice full headpiece) and then glued the felt piece onto the headband.  One of my scarves and she was ready - - and she was a big hit with everyone who saw her!

22  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Fall Decor from Vintage Grater on: October 23, 2016 03:28:09 PM
I created a little wall hanging (or I may tuck it in a bowl full of walnuts or something else!) from a rusty vintage grater - - and my banner says "grateful" on a grater - - haha! Smiley

Never pass up rusty kitchen gadgets at yard sales!!
23  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Thanksgiving / Table Signs for Dessert Table or Buffet on: October 08, 2016 10:18:13 AM
Can you believe I plucked these little easel signs from the trash?  They were written on with permanent marker, so I just covered them paper, chalk board decal and some fall embellies - - and voila!  Super cute signs to put next to my dishes on my Thanksgiving buffet!!

24  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Frame Pincushion on: October 08, 2016 10:10:47 AM
I wish I could take credit for the original idea - - but a crafty friend of mine made one and I loved it, so created my own spin!  I will be making several of these as Christmas gifts for the sewers & crafters in my life Smiley

25  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Pre Op / Post Op - Scrapbooking reall life on: September 16, 2016 09:19:05 PM
I felt the need to share this story in my scrapbook - - above the hidden journaling is a photo of my tumor (the surgeon took the pic for me!)

26  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Snips and Snails (my first ATC :) ) on: September 10, 2016 09:49:57 AM
I have created my first ATC as part of a large art tribute for a fellow crafter who recently lost a very young grandson

27  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / "Nevermore" Mini Canvas for Halloween on: September 10, 2016 09:41:33 AM
Getting a start on my Halloween decor for this year...

Can't tell from the photo, but the letters are actually glittered

28  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Whale Canvas (kids room wall decor) on: July 23, 2016 04:23:31 PM
I created this little 8x8 canvas using painted background, hand cut paper whale & water spout, ric rac trim and clear Dew Drops for bubbles

29  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Softee Socks - 12 x 12 Scrapbook page on: May 29, 2016 01:27:27 PM
This is a layout about how much I love to wear my softee socks (I am wearing a pair right now!)

I used Stampin Up paper and created a patchwork background, adding some machine stitching

30  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / "Hidden Kitty" on: March 06, 2016 04:52:13 PM
A little background - - I work at a small airport (we mfg propellers) I love to wear maxi dresses and skirts.... one of the perks of my job is to walk our office dog everyday after lunch.  There is a HUGE cat that lives in the hanger next door - Blue - he belongs to the group of "crusty old guys" (my bosses description) that build and house their planes there - - they are a fantastic, interesting group of men - retired pilots, doctors and race car drivers (who else can afford their own plane?)

Blue the Cat is OBSESSED with my maxi skirts, while I stand to talk to the guys, he crawls under my skirt to hide - - the guys find this HYSTERICAL (and so do I!)

I chose to do a white on white title to go with the theme of "Hidden Kitty"  and lots of spring icons......
