1  Sear Kenmore Sewing Machine Trouble - please help in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by InkNvDubs on: March 20, 2007 06:58:04 PM
I am getting really frustrated by my sewing machine & and my lack of sewing machine general knowledge. My bf's ex wife gave it to me and I can't get it so work properly. First off - i don't even know the parts of the sewing machine and what they do. When I was younger, I could sew but if there was a problem, my Mom would just fix it for me - so any help in pointing out the different functions and parts would be greatly appreciated Smiley

Sears Kenmore

this end is off, and I can't adjust it to not seem stuck

what does this do?

what do all these parts do? I have no clue

I don't have an owner's manual, and would like to avoid paying 20 bucks for a copy = does anyone know where I could get a copy of the owner's manual?
the model # is Sear Kenmore 158.130

thanks in advance!

2  St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun Outfit** (long time lurker, first time poster) in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by InkNvDubs on: March 17, 2007 01:44:52 AM
I posted this first in the wrong section and now I think I have it right...

Since St. Patrick's Day is Saturday and I am Irish (really really I am) I have been busy making up a little something for Miss Calliope (my bf's daughter) to wear to school on Friday. Since I know that her wearing a big green leprechaun hat is disruptive to the learning environment, plus it is sort of a toy, I opted to make a shamrock headband. Here is where I got the free pattern for the headbands, of which I plan on making many many headbands out of the fabric scraps I have been hoarding.

ok - here are the pics

I stitched on this felt shamrock by hand.

and here is the back of the vest!

Calliope and Dave = just waking up and too tired for pictures

here is the back view fo the headband - you can kinda see that I didn't do just like the picture & I kinda messed up and made it too big - so what! it still looks good Smiley

Side view - bobby pin are there because I made the band too wide, otherwise you would not need any bobby pins. The headband stays perfectly in place, no sliding.

See the white elastic being covered by the green shamrock fabric tie? that is what make this an awsome pattern.

And Calliope was pretty thrilled about being able to celebrate St. Patrick's Day as much as I am, seeing as how the both of us are Irish!
