16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Hat for Baby ;D on: July 10, 2005 12:19:43 PM
I made this for my friend's daughter.  She was born just last month, and is still wearing the beanie she got from the hospital because all the ones they received are still too big for her.

Egh...sorry that it's a bit blurry.  In a bit of a rush to eat my lunch Grin

Happy Knitting folks!

19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Very cool knitting needle case... on: May 05, 2005 02:56:08 PM
Has any of you seen these?  My sister was stationed in Korea and brought back her eyeglass case and it had the same function as this knitting needle case.  There are no hinges.  When you open it, it can fold inside out ot it's original closed position.  They have them available at Hancock Fabrics and on their website  www.hancockfabrics.com  I just couldn't believe that they have them here in the states now.  Awesome.

20  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Our Napoleon Dynamite Dinners - for those on a budget on: May 04, 2005 11:25:14 AM
I have this odd habit of bunching up a dinner/food theme with whatever movie we're going to enjoy for the weekend evenings.  Our past 2 sunday night dinners have been accompanied with viewing Napoleon Dynamite; our 2 1/2 yr old son loves this movie as do we.  Also, this serves 6-8 people for under 15.00!

It's not from scratch, but it works, and boy is it yummy!!!!  Brings back memories of elementary school.

99cent only store (don't be afraid to go here):
2.97 - 3 cans of Del Monte Original Sloppy Joe mix
1.98 - 2 packages of American brand Hamburger Buns
0.99 - fresh strawberries

Vons/Pavilions or your local grocery store:
3.97 - 5lb bag of Tater treats aka Tots
2.97 - 3lbs of ground beef (on sale)

Over med/high heat in a semi-deep pan, cook the ground beef until brown and drain excess fat.  Stir in 3 cans of Del Monte Original Sloppy Joe Mix.  Serve on open face buns with a side of your baked Tots (bake as many as you like), serve with homemade Southern Sweet Tea...and enjoy with family and friends.

Desert:  sugar coated strawberries Smiley
