O how I love him, I have been crushing on this doctor for a while now.  Wonder what my hubby would think if I made one of these to cuddle with...Huh

Heehee, that totally made me laugh!
I should have asked for a hunk from you when we were doing our swap - I never thought of that. Oh well, maybe next time xx

Aww, thank you so much Super-crayola! Sometimes I go through phases of getting fed-up with what I'm doing, but then I get some new ideas and I feel all full of enthusiasm again!!
I can't wait to see your dolls...I love looking at other peoples' creations too xx
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Stump dolls and stripey tights! on: August 27, 2011 03:56:01 PM
Hi everyone,

I made up a couple of mini-stump dolls last week with some spangly scarves that I bought. I do love playing with sparkly fabrics!

I also just finished these two girls today. I was meaning to slow down a bit with my dolls and maybe try something new, but I got my hands on some stripey fat quarters and couldn't resist making stripey tights!!
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: A Little Ballerina Girl on: August 24, 2011 11:08:45 AM
Thank you girls!

She's beautiful! I hope that maybe someday you'll be inspired to create a kid-friendly doll. I'd love to have one for my future daughter.

I've done a few child-friendly dolls for special orders in the past. I embroider their faces on so that they don't get chewed or rubbed off! It does take a bit longer but they always come out very nicely (I think!) xx

Hi everyone,

I made a little pink ballerina yesterday and I'm really pleased with the way that she turned out. I thought I would share her photo with you!

Wendy is lovely - you've got those ghost dolls down to a fine art Smiley xx
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: How to sew lace trimming on doll on: July 29, 2011 04:22:10 PM
I've made a couple of dolls with similar skirts and I must admit that I do it the easy way and just sew the lace on to the outside once the doll's body is already assembled. I just pin it where I want it to go, and then I use a nice neat backstitch (in the same colour thread so that it isn't too visible).

Good luck xx
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do I make a male doll head? on: July 29, 2011 04:19:39 PM
I've never made a male doll, but if I did, I would try to make the jaw more square, and give him big masculine eyebrows and maybe a moustache or beard or some stubble! Maybe you could look for male dolls on Google images and see what other people have made and how they do it xx
