31  Couple of T-shirt makeovers. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by CleanFeelin on: August 16, 2010 07:17:02 PM
These are from a swap that ended a little while ago so I am posting them now.

I took a plain white t, cut off the arms and neck then cut the seam on the shoulders, twisted the straps then re-sewed them together.  Then in the bottom corner I wrote a quote from twilight:

"Fire and ice, somehow existing together without destroying each other" -B.C.
Then here is the back:

I wish I could take credit for these wings but I can't, they are from Google images.  I printed them on a transfer sheet and ironed them on.  I was planning on painting/drawing but I got lazy and was running out of time.

This is the front of the t-shirt all folded nicely.  Due to an OCD from working in retail for the better part of three years.

The back of the DQ shirt.  I cut off the sleeves, neckline, and cutout from the shoulder.  Then twisted the back to become a racerback t-shirt.  I wasn't completely satisfied with the back so I created this next shirt, which I am in love with.

I made this awesome scarf from two XL t-shirts that I was really sad to see go.  It was so long and versatile, guess I will have to make another one.

This pillow was a no-sew project.  I cut strips to tie it all together, but once I got the the fourth side, I turned the pillow inside out so all the knots were on the inside.  Then I continued tying but tucked the pieces inside.  Gave it a much cleaner look

I made these super-duper easy leg warmers.  I found a hot pink long sleeved henley that was a ribbed material.  Since the arm is tapered I turned the sleeve inside out then started sewing straight down.  They turned out awesome and stay up on the leg since top of the leg warmer is the end of the sleeve, that won't stretch out.

Hoped you like them.  C&C welcome.

32  T-Shirt Bracelets. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by CleanFeelin on: August 16, 2010 06:56:04 PM
So I made these for a swap that ended a while and safe to say that I can post them up here now.  These are three t-shirt bracelets, I used the same knot for all of them, the double josephine knot.  Which I looove, I've used it twice for two different swaps so far.

Without further ado:

The picture quality is pretty poor, I don't remember to take pictures during the day.  But it's my fav, I made one for myself in neon green.

This one is a pink/white stripe that is braided.

This one was too big for my wrist but fit perfectly on my ankle.

Hope you like them! C&C Welcome!

Since AloraRox has posted pictures yet I thought I would go ahead and do that.

She got 2 t-shirts, 3 bracelets, pink leg warmers, black and white scarf, 3 headbands, and a pillow that said "hotter than wasabi" but you cant see that.

Her mom hosted the swap since I wasn't able to and was super awesome for doing so, so I threw in some extra stuff to share with her mom and sis.  Hopefully she did!

You can find headbands anywhere the gym, the office, in school and they come in many fabulous styles and colors.  This will be a super simple swap (say that 3x fast), great for first-timers, and just in time for back to school.  You will be given three weeks to create your headbands and then send out.  Everyone will be put into groups, the size of the group will depend on the number of people that sign up, the number of headbands you have to make will be no more than 3.  We will be making one headband for each partner, no need for extras.  But, you also have the opportunity to be in larger groups or multiple groups.  But remember to ONLY sign up for what you can handle, there is no need for flakers.

Also since the headbands are small you can probably just fit them into a padded envelope, which will 1) cut down shipping cost and 2) eliminate the need for DC #.  If your partner(s) dont receive their headband you will be required to re-send.

Here is the stuff I got from ALORAROX:

Here is the loot - Blue t-shirt with a paw and Jacob written on it, a leopard pillow, a sweet tank top bag, and a sylvester the cat stuffed animal.

BUT along with this stuff was my absolute favorite thing

A brown polo with a painted image of Lady Gaga!

Here is a close up

Amazing job on painting this!  What did you paint it on to adhere it to the shirt, it's really stiff?

36  Who Loves Headbands Swap! in New Swap Theme Ideas by CleanFeelin on: July 19, 2010 12:19:20 PM

So I loooove headbands especially the big feathery ones for a night out but I also love simple ones to just get my hair out of my face.  So depending on the interest in the swap will depend on the set up of the swap, it will either be in groups and you have to send one headband to every group member or a single partner and you make three? headbands for that single partner.  I think I can organize it (I have participated in two swaps, is that all I need?)

This is a great swap for knitters, crotcheters, sewists, and those in between, like me.

Here are some examples:

From ManicMittens

From Fluffybaka

From Liberry Booked

From Tattooed_jen_ell

These are just a few examples of the MANY varieties.  Let me know who's in!

37  Re-Constructed T-Shirt Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by CleanFeelin on: May 19, 2010 07:12:48 PM

So I was going through some of the recent swap galleries and was inspired to do a swap with T-Shirts.  I was thinking of doing a swap where the only materials you could use would be t-shirts (besides threads, accent pieces, etc) to create something new.  The new item could be anything from a bag, belt, rug, or even a new reconstructed T-shirt.

Here is my problem though, I am a newbie and have only done one swap on craftster.  So if you guys were really interested somebody would have to organize it.  I think this would be a really cool idea because its recycling, the materials are cheap (thrift stores, goodwill, your own closet), and you don't need to be an expert sewer to be in this swap (a lot of things don't need to be sewn).

If someone is willing to organize I would be more than willing to help you out.

Also here is a great website that got me started on my love of making things out of t-shirts:

This is from Zombiecakeses

This is from RavingRosemary

This is from Purple_Girl

This is from Taraston

I loved all of the bracelets, especially the color schemes.
Thank you guys, I really enjoyed this swap, sorry about the timing the past two months have been a whirlwind of different things going on (first it was vacation, then I lost my job, then I found a new job so I have been going crazy for the last two months).

39  Monsterous 52 Reason Deck (lil pic heavy) in Valentine's Day by CleanFeelin on: February 15, 2010 11:03:25 AM
So I found the idea for the 52 Reason gift on Craftster last year but it was too close to Valentine's Day that I couldn't do it so I decided to do it this year.  I bought a magic deck of cards at the dollar store, half the deck had a number or face card and the other half had the backside of the card, but all of the cards had a blank side.

So I decided to get some cardstock paper in a couple of different colors and glue down with Mod Podge about eight cards (I can't remember the exact number) to the card stock and then cut them out.

I had to stack heavy items on top of the paper because it began to curl.  After they dried, for about a half hour because I am impatient, I cut them out and placed heavy items on them again so they would dry completely flat. (The heavy item I used on the cards is nickles inside of Pog holders, she has a coin collections she was sorting out)

After that I had to hand hole punch each of the cards twice using a die that I cut out of an index card.  This was my least favorite part of the whole project because my hand hurt a lot after I was done punching out some 100+ holes.

Here is what it looks like before I added the reasons and numbers to the deck.

So even before I started this project I did not realize how big it was going to be because I forgot that with each piece of cardstock added to the back of the cards and piece of paper added to the front of the card will make the deck larger and larger.  So here is the finished product with a few of the reasons I put inside:

Front view

Our love of beer

How we compliment each other

You are a boyfriend to all my girlfriends

Made with love

(side note - Mikleen is a nickname we came up with like Bradjalina or Benifer - its our names Mikey and Colleen)

Here is the rest of the Swag that he got:

He randomly got me a Nintendo DS and we always stop at our fav Taco Bell and he usually buys!

This is the whole package: I got him the Dexter shirt from the show Dexter (I got him one for Christmas and wears it all the time so I got another one), there are some heart candies I made from melts and a heart mold, sour patch kids, the 52 reason deck, and the card I made.  He absolutely loved everything in the package I gave him and he wore the shirt on Valentine's Day.

I know Valentine's Day was yesterday but this is my first post and I hope I am doing everything to standard.

Thanks for looking.
