21  Re: 2010 Last-Minute Holiday Projects Craftalong in Craftalongs by CleanFeelin on: December 17, 2010 06:27:55 AM

1. Hat for my brother - done

2. Hat for my future SIL - done
3. Cowl for my bf's mom - 31% done (did one row last night)
4. Cowl for my bf's sis
5. Hat for my sis
6. Hat or scarf for my mom
7. Scarf for my dad
8. Cookies for my coworkers/bf's family
9. Desserts for Christmas dinner

My brother's hat was made out of sugar n' cream 100% cotton yarn and the other hat was made out of Naturally Caron Spa bamboo/acrylic yarn.  Loved working with the bamboo yarn so soft and easy to work with.  My brother and future SIL live in LA so they can't have anything heavy since it is nice out all year long.  I hope they like them as much as I liked making them.

22  Re: International Snack Swap 2 Gallery! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by CleanFeelin on: December 13, 2010 03:38:59 PM
So sorry for the major delay in getting these pics posted it has been crazier than expected around the house and whatnot.  But no more excuses here they are:

The lot includes:

Real Fruit Fruit snacks
Real Source Fruit bars
Fruit Leathers in three different flavors
A chocolate egg
Mint Aero
Mr. Big
Dairy Milk
Hickory Sticks
Beef Jerky
Ketchup Chips
Crispy Minis in Cheddar flavor
Bits and Bits
Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cookies
Maple Cookies
Raspberry filled pastry
Caramel filled cookie covered in chocolate
Crunchies Candy Bar

Here are the snack bags I got:

And my MOST favorite candy in the world!  I can only get these around Easter, can't wait to see if they taste the same as they do in the states.  I am saving these.

What didn't make it was an aero bar and another candy bar filled with milk.

THANK YOU so much ekkagurl.  I loved everything you sent me.

Ha perfect timing, here is my package from Mink_Bikini

I got this AMAZING utensil holder to bring to work, I am constantly losing my utensils and lets talk about this patter - SO ME!

Here is a picture of the set all together with the placemat, napkin, and roll.  I put pens inside just to show how big the slots are.  One for my fork spoon, knife, and something extra.  Also a slot for the napkin as well.

Here is everything tucked inside:

Here is it all rolled up nice and neat:

And that is not all, she sent a headband as well!  So cute.  I just chopped off my hair so this looks fabulous.

I love everything you made, my boyfriend even complimented you on the quilting of the fabric (if that is what you call it) along the pattern.  Such attention to deal.

Thank you for organizing this!

24  Re: MINI 12 Days of Christmas 2010 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by CleanFeelin on: November 10, 2010 09:42:07 AM
Finally got my package, after being stuck in New Jersey it finally got here just in time!

Here is everything in the box:

and everything laid out:

So excited about the reuseable bags - I love them.

Day 12 - Homemade Applebutter that Rock Cave Mom's family made and a dishtowel.

Day 11 - Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup with Herbed Pasta wrapped in a reuseable bag.
(I am going to save this for when I need it, when I eventually get a cold - looks delish!)

Day 10 - A journal from a local artist, both Rock Cave Mom and her husband are local artist.  There are some quotes/poems inside, I will post later with what they are.  This too was wrapped in a dish towel.

Day 9 - A lovely travel tissue holder, which is perfect for this time of year.  I try to keep them with me but the plastic package always gets messed up.  This was also wrapped in a dish towel.

Day 8 - A fabric bag with some make-up accessory extras.  It's small enough that I can toss in my purse with my makeup in it and not have it be too heavy.  This also was wrapped in a dish towel.

Day 7 - A cute little change purse with a nickle already in it for good luck - my Nana & Grandma used to do this too when giving wallets.  This came wrapped up in a dish towel.

Day 6 - An AMAZING travel toiletry bag filled with little extras.  This is so great I was in need of one in just this style too.  This was wrapped in a reuseable bag.

Day 5 - A clever organizer that will be perfect to fit in my bag.  I always have a notebook on me so this is great.  It includes a 2011 organizer, notepad, telephone book, and two pens.  This was wrapped in a Trader Joes Bag

Day 4- A red checkerd scarf, super unique, and looks like Rock Cave Mom took a lot of time to make this.  I included two pictures so you can see the upclose details.

Day 3- Get your WIST buttons ready ladies because this is an amazing gift.  I LOVE these earrings, they are so my style.  Rock Cave Mom's husband is a wood worker, and she told me this ahead of time and I was not expecting these gorgeous earrings.

Day 2- I got this great starter jewelry making kit.  Complete with storage cases and three different types of pliers.  Rock Cave Mom told me that these are mostly recycled/reclaimed beads.

Day 1- After I opened the previous days and saw sewn items I was REALLY hoping for a purse and that is exactly what I got.  I was told it is an Amy Butler patter and fabric.  I can't wait til the spring to bust this out, it will be perfect, especially with all the matching accessories.

and the inside, there are two pockets on each side:

Thank you so much Rock Cave Mom this package was AWESOME!  I hope you had a Merry Christmas and enjoy future swapping.

Here are the pics of what I made for Miss Barbara.  I copy and pasted her post.

I received from my partner, CleanFeelin, today!  Unfortunately, I am unable to post photos, so I will type a description of what she sent me, and then PM her to know that I received and that she can post photos (Thanks, CleanFeelin!).

Keep in mind, that I do not have a "wist".  I DO, however, have a LIST of items/themes, etc...that I like and it gives my partner in a swap something to go on.  I received so many of the items on my list!  What a generous and talented partner!

Here goes:

1)  A HANDCARVED 'Craftster' stamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2)  A HANDCARVED ball of yarn with a crochet hook in it stamp!  It is soooooo adorable!

3)  Not one, but TWO ETCHED GLASS jars....FILLED WITH CANDY!  Ice cream is one of my themes, so she etched an ice cream cone on one, and a sundae on the other!

4)  A RIBBON ORGANIZER!!!!!!!!!!  YumJello made one for the 'Spell My Name' swap, and I LOVED it!  It was on my list and my partner made it for me!  AND, she put SEVERAL spools of ribbon in it!!!!!!!!!!!!  (Some were orange, and the box had orange in the pattern on it too!)

5)  Blank cards with envelopes!  I had stationery on my list and they are blank so that I can use my new stamps with them!!!!!!!!!!!

She also included a really sweet note as well...thank you so very, very much for such an AWESOME package, CleanFeelin!

I am so glad that you liked everything!  I so had swap anxiety because I sent off my package before I received yours and thought I didn't send enough!

Also one thing I forgot to mention, if you add a block of wood to the stamps it will come out more even when you use them, sorry I didn't have enough time to do that for you.

Thanks a bunch Miss Barbara you are a great partner!

So as many of you know Miss Barbara is a very quick sender, thus I have already received my 2nd package!  Which I love love love!  Here are the pics:

She made me this great granny square blanket in my fav color scheme - white, blue, and gray.

I already used it last night to cuddle up in while watching project runway!  My mom was also impressed by it, I think she is just jealous.

Here are some of the supplies she set me, as you can see I already started trying my hand at the single crochet with some awesome gray yarn, but there are a lot of scrapbooking supplies that always come in handy and headbands that I can use for future headband swaps!

Also I think I forgot to put it in she gave me a step-by-step guide to granny squares one of the things I am DYING to do (but I fail).  But I realized that I need to start small and work my way up!

Also I wanted to take a picture of this because Miss Barbara is so great and searched out for a lilac candle, which I appreciate soo much and it smells soooo good.

Lastly, I wanted to give these credit and not take a picture of them in the lot so here are some earring that she sent me.

I am all washed out but you can see all the detail in the stone, I love them.  Perfect color combo with the blue, white, and gray.

Thank you Miss Barbara, you sent a very, very thoughtful package.  You are a great swapper and I hope you like my package just as much.  Grin

Here is what I received from Miss Barbara:

1. Three postcards - She is from NY specifically from a part on Long Island

12. Something you collect - Seashells and a sweet piece of sea glass. Like Miss Barbara I too love to go to the beach so these will go right in with my collection.

17. Something related to yarn - a journal decorated with some soft orange yarn, she loves the color orange and stationary.  Best of both worlds!

19. Something that represents your family - she had one of her daughters draw a picture (such a cool idea) of their family and even write a little note.  Very thoughtful.

27. Something related to your favorite quote: "You did then, What you knew then.  When you know better, you did better." - Maya Angelou

29. Something related to an issue that's important to you - Before she was involved with Craftster Miss Barbara was really involved with Project Night Night that donates books and blankets to kids who need them.  P.S. I love reusable bags.

30. Something related to your favorite way to to destress - Food! (Same here sista)

32. Something local to my city/state - A "smooshed penny" from Pt. Jefferson.

33. Something that represents a major achievement in your life: becoming a teacher!  I got a mini mini back pack filled with teacheresque things.  Not sure if you were trying to spell BARBRA?

34. A little photo album with photos Miss Barbra took - I got a couple pictures from Atlantis Marine World.  I will definitely be using the pond pictures for another project - aka decorating my future apt.

Thank you so much Miss Barbra, I am glad that you enjoyed your package as much as I did.  I cannot wait to start on your other package.

(PS Sorry if I spelled your name wrong, I have an Aunty Barbra and always spell her name wrong.)

And here is the lot of things all together:

Here are picture of what I made for Miss Barbara, I copy and pasted from her original post.

I received from CleanFeelin yesterday, and since I can't post photos, I am going to write a description of what she sent (I already PMed her that I received, so hopefully she'll post photos, so you can all see.).  Here goes:

#4:  A "Cooking With Craftster" set of five recipes, plus extra recipe cards to write some new recipes on (tied with an ORANGE ribbon)    (5 of your favorite recipes)

#5:  A nifty white scarf, made out of a recycled t-shirt it looks like, and both braided and in strands.  (My favorite color)

#12:  A very stylish box decopauged with pictures of clothes, cut from magazines (and a ton of perfume samples inside!)  (Something I collect)

#16:  An ORANGE rose folded out of paper!  (My favorite craft supply)

#18:  A jar of HOT SAUCE!  (Something related to my favorite food)

#20:  A 2011 weekly planner that she papercrafted the covers to!  (Something that keeps me organized)

#23:  A real size metal skeleton key on a polka dot ribbon key fob (Something that represents my dreams)

#27:  A really nifty, burnt around the edges looking large magnet that reads:  'Beware of Lynn, Lynn Lynn the city of sin.  You'll NEVER come out, the way you went in."  (My favorite quote)

#22:  A jar of FLUFF!  (Something local to my city)

#33:  A U Mass Lowell foam cup cozie (A major achievement in my life)

Veeerryyy interesting, CleanFeelin, verrryyy interesting!  Thanks!
