CUTE!! I agree with averyg. It looks beautiful as is. If you do end up using a strap, though, at least make it twisted like what you've got running across your chest there. LOVE the color, and it looks gorgeous on your skin tone, too.

28  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / The Hot Glue Challenge! on: June 16, 2010 01:55:04 PM
There's so many wonderful things you can make with hot glue. And I think it would be awesome to see what people could come up with. I've always got such ideas bouncing around my head. I once made a jacket - - not with a sewing machine, but purely with hot glue. My sister made a sculpture of hot glue. A friend made a mosaic by letting tons of heated glue dry in one layer over cut up photos in a frame. Whether the glue is what's seen (like the sculpture or mosaic) or the only reason the project functions (like a dress or to-scale replica of yourself in hot glue and popsicle sticks) I think this project is wide open to interpretation, and still absolutely fun. And a challenge. And an opportunity to stick it to the hot glue gun for all the times its burned you before and say, ha. I made something awesome. You can't keep me down!
29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Can anyone explain how to get this ruching effect?? on: June 14, 2010 08:49:34 AM
Heehee, thanks about the name. One of these days I'll get a featured project or win a challenge and it's gonna be great. "Yeah, Awesome McTastical won. No brainer." XD And Annaloves idea about sewing it to a bra is actually pretty brilliant. I've done it for swimsuits but never thought to apply it to a dress! I cannot WAIT to see your dress!
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Can anyone explain how to get this ruching effect?? on: June 11, 2010 10:13:57 AM
Four days is ambitious, but definitely possible, especially if you pass on the handstitching and use my method. I think you could definitely do it. I mean, even if you DID handstitch it, it's possible if you dedicate yourself totally to it. I saw an episode of Project Runway FOREVER ago, the one with the pregnant redhead if you're a fan, where they had I believe two days to create a true couture gown (just means totally hand-made). And one of the guys created an amazing dress with that exact kind of rouching. So yes, you can do it in four! And you're welcome so much! Let me know how your dress turns out and how it does in the contest! Best of luck to you!
