101  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My First Few Amigurumis on: January 23, 2010 05:56:14 AM
I love reading about other people's projects on craftster, so I decided I would post some projects myself (for the first time)! *excited*
I've been totally into making cute little amigurumis lately - I just love that they are so small and adorable. At first, I experimented with different animal types, body-to-head ratios and facial styles to achieve my goal of: optimal cuteness. I would love some opinions to what people find optimally cute.

This is the first guy I did. I was inspired by the muzzle aesthetic of Amigurumi Kingdom - just love those muzzlepouches. I also added a big flower as his hat. I realized that I needed to use a smaller hook since you can see some of the stuffing through the stitches (G hook with loose stitches was too big). I like his wide-set eyes, though.

This next one I gave Shrek ears and a little collar.

This one has tighter stitching and large, kitty ears, which I like. I like the high ear-to-head ratio.

This monkey has a smaller head and very long arms. I'm not sure that it adds to the cute, but my boyfriend really liked this one.

Blue puppy's got textured yarn and a ginormous head. Upside: it's kind of funny. Downside: his head is super floppy and it doesn't really stay upright on its own.

102  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Laptop covers..... Pic heavy! on: January 22, 2010 05:59:04 PM
Those are lovely covers! I have yet to crochet a cover for my new laptop. My last one was made of little granny squares, but I love the look of the stripes!
103  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Owl Amigurumi on: January 22, 2010 11:49:35 AM
Lovely! The way you did the eyes is fantastic - it looks like he could blink if he wanted to.
104  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Captain Jean-Luc Picard - Patrick Stewart afghan on: January 22, 2010 11:40:03 AM
That is one EPIC afghan. You are amazingly talented!
105  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Foodie Hats [hoho, salad, watermelon] on: January 22, 2010 11:37:08 AM
Adorable hats! I love the watermelon one - it's so happy and colourful!
106  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Chubby bear/koala creature amigurumi on: January 22, 2010 10:51:49 AM
What an adorable bear/koala! I especially like the nose-to-eyeball size ratio.
107  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: 7x7ft Raccoon Mario Rug! on: January 22, 2010 10:46:40 AM
This rug is epic! You have inspired me to try and make an 8-bit mario blanket. Although, I'll admit, I don't think I have the patience to make it as big as your rug!

Sweet scarf! It looks totally super amazing. Very imaginative.
