2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Does this look right to you? (PIC. HEAVY) on: September 17, 2005 01:31:23 PM
Hey everyone!

I am somewhat of a novice knitter and I am trying to knit the Harry Potter scarf for the movie (dork alert!)

I'm going to try a dummy test on some yarn I had lying around I am gonna cast on and knit for a few rounds and see if I can do it, without wasting my precious and gorgeous red yarn (gryffindor all the way!). I have a few pictures of my cast ons and I am wondering if you can help me out.

I'll try to give as much info so you can help me diagnose my knitting problem.  Cry

The needles are Addi Turbo and are size 16" circular cable (US size = 8 ) and I am using PLymouth Encore Worsted Weight yarn (which it calls for in my pattern)

This is my pattern. http://knit.atypically.net/scarves/azkaban/pattern.shtml.

I am using the long tail cast on method as shown at knittinghelp.com

These are my cast on photos...

My questions...

Do these cast on's look ok to you?
What is the best cast on method for circular knitting?
What can I do with that bothersome tail yarn? Grr.

Thanks for all of you help. Sorry this got long... :/

I like to do crafts so i thought why not make a profit (uhhmmm just like eveyrone else here haha). I have a million [rough estimate  Wink] of those record bowls (with decorative patterns) and a few collage peices but I don't know if it's worth putting out on ebay. What do you think? Have any of you made a profit (price of item selling - supplies cost - shipping?) selling those types of items?

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Big Beautifull Ocean Mosaic (big images) on: September 04, 2005 12:52:53 AM
My mom, sister and I worked on this for amost 2 years (for about 6 months we didnt touch it so about 1 1/2) until it was finished. The drawing was mostly done by my mom and she had us paste the tiles and grout it. We did a wave, a mermaid tail and a bench. It's our guest shower, and it's pretty much an open shower. I wish I could have taken more detailed photos but oh well.
