1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / UPDATED! Greenie bracelet and other thingies... on: April 14, 2010 06:25:01 AM
I bought these shell beads on ebay and couldn't figure out what to do with them until I turned my bead collection upside down for inspiration.... and came up with this little piece.

Blue has always been my favorite color, but this doesn't look too bad, with the yellow glass beads.

What do you think??

Here are more designs I came up with... I keep thinking that maybe funky bracelets and necklaces may not catch on, hence, these "safe" designs... but now I'm seriously thinking tht maybe I should go all kooky and nuts!! But for now, these are what I have...

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / More bracelets! on: February 18, 2010 07:46:24 AM
I love blue! That would explain the stash of blue beads I have in stock! LOL!!

I've come up with an all blue bracelet, complete with lampwork focal beads, and for the second one, mixed it up with red beads.

C&C welcomed!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Earrings and bracelets on: February 02, 2010 07:57:36 AM
I keep making earrings and bracelets from the collection of beads I've amassed, when inspirations hits. Then I hit a wall... and my unused beads lie low for months until the wall comes down and I'm back behind my craft desk.

Just thought I'd share some of the stuff I have made that I have yet to give away. I've made a ton more that have gone to lovely homes. Wink

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Fabric Poppies on: February 01, 2010 07:28:50 AM
After reading this great tutorial [https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=318808.0] I just had to give this a try over the weekend!!

I'm planning on making more this weekend to give away as presents. Now all I have to do is scour my wardrobe for old skirts with similar type linings, or I'll just go buy some, for 60 cents a meter, I can go wild! LOL!!

5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Quilted bookmarks... sorta! on: January 27, 2010 05:52:17 AM
THis is my first attempt at making quilted bookmarks.

The fabric is scrap that mom donated to me, and blue is my absolute favorite color!

Also, being a bookworm, and not having enough of bookmarks, I decided to make these - one with cross stitch thread, and the other without.

I'm planning on making the next batch bigger. What do you think?? Cheesy

The one at the bottom is showing its stitching cos silly me forgot to change the tension on the sewing machine!

The reverse sides.
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / The 2nd bag I Made... A Christmas present! on: January 27, 2010 05:31:13 AM
This is the 2nd bag that I've ever made (I'm still looking for the pic of the 1st one! Tongue)

I whipped it up in three hours, while my sister was out Christmas shopping last year.

It didn't start out as a bag with handles, because the initial idea was to make it a clutch... so much for that happening!

Anyway, i realised I cut too much fabric, so ended up with this design. There is still improvement needed, like the stitching, as I used light blue thread in the bobbin, instead of red to match the lining. And I didn't have a magnetic clasp to attach to the bag, sigh... I'm learning something new every day...

But my sister liked it and then loved it when I told her I made it (the fabric featuriing guitars was her fav... she's a closet rocker chick!)

I don't have a tut for this, cos I just sort of had to turn the initial idea for a clutch into something else... but it didn't turn out that bad.

Your feedback (if any Tongue) is always appreciated. Cheesy
