I get to post first!!

I received an awesome package from fatewineroses. It's seriously cool.

Here's a group shot (with chocolate bonus):

Some close ups...a TM Patch with my fave quote with the perfect font and accent fabric:

And the hoop! Ah, I love this so much!!!

Thank you so much, fatewineroses!!!!

That tissue holder is cute!

Agreed!!

Playing a bit of catch up...

Friday (2/17), finished drawing and carved mandala stamp:

I'm still trying to decide if it works as a pattern like this or if random stand-alone stamps would be better.

Then over the weekend (Sat/Sun 2/18-19) I worked on my Leia Embroidery:

I didn't get too far...we went on a ski trip, so I fit this in when I could (mostly before bed). I also picked up a cold while I was away, so I didn't manage to craft yesterday...I crashed after we got home. Sad

Challenge: Detention: February
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Pokemon Valentines
Project Page Link: N/A
Brief Description: I made these valentines with my son for his class. We carved a two-step stamp for these cards and stamped "I choose you" on the inside.
Project Pictures:

Challenge: Headmistress Challenge: February
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Eye Tie-Dye Shirt
Project Page Link: Video for pattern
Brief Description: I made this shirt for a loved one - my son. We tried our hand at an eye tie-dye pattern. Our black dye was RIT and a bit old, so it faded a bit, but the eye pattern is still visible.

House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Tie-Dye Randomness
Project Page Link: N/A
Brief Description: Tie dye blurs lines and blends colors, much like the San Fran fog. Smiley

Class: Study of Ancient Runes
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Tie Dye Seat Cover
Project Page Link: N/A
Brief Description: I don't think I have to say that tie-dye is my favorite craft. I love adding color to things. When kiddo's off-white seat cover was looking stained and grungy, I gave it a face lift in my dye pot.

Awesome hat!! I have a request in for one as well. Wink Would have been much cooler if I could have made my own.

Last night was mandala night in my house...I'm working on a stamp and kiddo is working on a piece for an upcoming art show.

I am loving the pies....I can definitely see your tweaks to the pattern, Smeddley. Different flavors would be cool, too!

I had a much more successful pattern transfer attempt last night. I think I can tweak anything I'm not happy with when stitching.

I would like to pick up a smaller hoop and then I'll start working on it. I'm headed north for a ski trip this weekend, so I'll be sure to bring this project with me for daily crafting. Smiley I might have been bitten by the embroidery bug.

lol...no judgement. I trace off my phone for smaller things all the time.

I did print this out and then trace with a light box...it's just the lines I'm having trouble with. I can't draw, so I really need the picture to tell me which lines to transfer for my pattern, and there's just not enough definition with this, especially in the face.

Here's my second attempt...we'll see how it transfers to fabric when I get home tonight. Fingers crossed.

My crafty thing yesterday was a bit of a fail. I tried to make my own embroidery pattern...but it did not transfer very well. I'm working on version 2 today. I think I have a better picture to start with that will transfer to clean embroidery lines.

Here's my fail:

It looked ok in the pic, but when I drew it on the fabric, I wasn't happy with how it came out.

Do you guys have any tips or tricks for creating an embroidery pattern from a picture?

One of these days I'll learn how to do pretty hand lettering...

I so want to take this class to learn how to do lettering. One of these days I will do it.

I finally made valentines last night for the HPC valentine exchange. They are being mailed out today...nothing like the last minute.  Grin

I had a bit of travel for work so I missed a few days...everyone is so busy!

Oh! I have to remember to check back to people's lists for pics! And eventually update my list with my daily craftiness.

I did successfully bring embroidery with me on the plane and even managed to sneak some scissors into my carry on (rounded, under 4 inches, so technically within the rules). My bag was searched on the way there, but not the way home. AND, I was able to squeeze in some daily stitching while traveling.

Yesterday kiddo and I made a snowman, so I'm counting that as my crafty thing, even though I spent a fair amount of time embroidering as well.

And today, we made valentines! It was my first two-part stamp - start simple, right? Cheesy Kiddo carved the outline and did a lot of the stamping....I was supportive in this craft. Cheesy We stamped "I choose you" on the inside.

ooo...very intrigued by the blocks (both sets), can't wait to see what they become.

The baked goodies are perfect for winter and are making me hungry...

Here are the fruits of my (and kiddo's) tie dye labor from yesterday:

There's more, but this is sufficient to show we were crafty. Smiley
