1  Ear Flap Headband v3.0 in Crochet: Completed Projects by stopthefacades on: April 17, 2009 12:33:27 PM
I'm back again with the headbands haha. This is the newer, more functional design.

Thanks for looking!

2  Reupholstered Office Chair in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by stopthefacades on: February 27, 2009 10:26:09 PM
My family has just moved into a new house, so I went thrifting for some furniture for my room. I nabbed this cool office chair for $10, but the fabric was dirty, old, and an ugly poop yellow color. It had to go.

(Sorry for the horrible cellphone pictures. We haven't unpacked the camera yet.)

This was my first reupholster, and it's not perfect, but I'm really happy with the result. Smiley

Thanks for looking! Smiley

3  Hyneman and Savage in Crochet: Completed Projects by stopthefacades on: February 02, 2009 02:20:18 AM
Okay, so I know this post is about 3 months late, but bear with me  Smiley. For this past Halloween my boyfriend and I decided to be Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage.

And if you don't know who they are, shame on you.

Cheesy I love the 'facial hair' hahaha! How did you attach them to your face?
Regular old scotch tape. It held up pretty well hahah.

I love them.  I hear they hate each other....
No way? Must be a love/hate thing.

Thanks everyone!

4  Rabbit dog? in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by stopthefacades on: August 10, 2008 10:29:40 PM
My cousin is due to have her baby soon this month, so I wanted to make little Eleanor Elizabeth a "welcome to the world!" gift.

This was my first attempt ever at making a stuffed toy. It's made with really soft fleece and cotton fabric and is stuffed with Cluster Stuff. The nose and mouth are hand stitched, as well as part of the left eye. My sewing machine decided to go wonky on me halfway through the eye so it's kind of messy.

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy

5  Earflap Headband v2.0 in Crochet: Completed Projects by stopthefacades on: April 30, 2008 03:30:08 AM
I wasn't satisfied with the original anymore, plus I lost it, so I decided to come up with a different pattern.

Here's the original for comparison:

I'm much more satisfied now, & I'm definitely going to make different variations of these.

6  Broomstick Lace Beret in Crochet: Completed Projects by stopthefacades on: April 10, 2008 12:33:01 PM
I'd been working on this on & off over the past two months I would say, & just finished it this morning (hence the I-just-woke-up look). It took exactly one skein of Lion Brand Microspun; I literally was left with about 2 inches of yarn after fastening off. No pattern, completely winged, & happy with the outcome.

Thanks for looking!

7  Re: Lacy Doily hair hider in Crochet: Completed Projects by stopthefacades on: March 07, 2008 12:59:20 AM
Wow, that's unbelievably similar to a hat they're selling on UrbanOutfitters.com for $20 (plus S&H).

I like yours better, & I love that color. Great job!

8  Big Hole Valentine Card in Valentine's Day by stopthefacades on: February 14, 2008 01:29:10 AM
"Go ahead. Ask why there's a big hole in your card."

He opens it, I snatch it from him &..

.. give him a big 'ole kiss!

I came up with the idea a few weeks ago. I think he'll get a kick out of it. Smiley

9  Urban Outfitters Scarf in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by stopthefacades on: December 04, 2007 12:49:56 AM
I was browsing through the UO website & found this crochet scarf. Naturally, I fell in love with the stitch.

Unfortunately, I know I wouldn't be able to figure it out for my life. Does anybody know which stitch this is? Or can somehow figure out how to do it? If so, please share!

10  Quick Headbands in Crochet: Completed Projects by stopthefacades on: July 19, 2007 03:01:24 AM
Inspired by the headband by natiux (thanks natiux!), I whipped these up in the time it takes to watch Back to the Future, & later on the latest episode of Top Chef. I loved that!

Patons Classic Wool Merino in Dark Grey & some beads from a broken necklace.
Single, double, & front-cross stitches.

Same yarn as above, plus Lion Brand Trellis in Copper Penny.
Single, treble, & front-cross stitches (treble instead of double).

They both tie in the back as opposed to going all the way around.
