1  UNITED STATES / Indiana / Craft Stores? on: February 20, 2008 09:36:09 PM
I wasn't sure where exactly to put this...

My family is going to Indianapolis come Feb 27th-March 2nd and was curious if anyone knows of any craft stores in that city? (Or anything interesting...but my main concern is craft stores...mainly fabrics)  We've never been, but I haven't had time to really fish around due to college....and was curious if anyone could help me out?!  Tongue

Thanks a lot!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: A Beatles Theme Bag on: January 14, 2008 02:46:59 PM
This is a little late of a post, but I haven't been with internet in several days.  Anyway, the handles are just the fabric and the tye dye  t-shirt sewn together.  Thanks for the comments Smiley

I'm actually happy with this one.  I didn't think it would turn out well...but I actually like it.  I got frustrated with it cause I made it a bit different than all my other bags...mainly cause I used a tote I bought from Hobby Lobby and just cut off the handles (too short, all in my armpits, ick.)

Here is a picture of it:

(I tried to post a full picture but it just made it sideways and fat XD)

Strawberries are deformed..was going to throw them out...but then I continued and I began to like it more. Cheesy

Thank you thank you!  It's been my first project (rather short, but oh well) for 2006!  Yay!

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Pop-Up Valentine's? on: February 05, 2006 05:01:11 PM
Valentine's Day is around the corner as we all know.  My best friend - who I have a pretty bad crush on, doesn't eat chocolate.  (I don't either, we're both athletes and we stay away from sweets as much as possible.)  But I bought an extra box of chocolates (I always get a box a chocolate for each of my best friends..)...

I gave my brother the chocolates to eat and I cut out the stuff in the inside, that holds the chocolate together.  I left the wall up.  I made a spring from...dangit, I can't remember what it's called.  You may know what it is...it's thick wire that's a golden color.  But half of the floor was missing, so I cut out with red cardstock paper in a shape of a heart.  I put a little hole in the middle of it.  Rubber cemented the paper down with the coiled around the bottom part.

Then I cut out another heart and rubber cemented it to felt.  Cut around it.

Then I gave it eyes, yarn for hair, cut out some other colors of felt and put them all together to make this beautiful face:

Then, I took the top of the spring and put a piece of paper under and above a part of it.  Because rubber cement seems to stick better paper on paper than coil on paper.  So I did that like so:

And then I glued the face on the paper on the spring.  And tada!  Came out this ugly thing!

So you know, he and I are pretty close and we aren't very serious on most things.  I'm a bit nervous on showing him my true feelings for him.  Everyone says he likes me and stuff.  You know, typical highschool best friends stuff, whatever.  But I didn't want to be too serious on V-day.  Oh well.  This was a pretty stinky job of me writing this, sorry.  But if you have any questions I will try to help you!  Yeah, we're not normal >.<;

Where do you find colorful rubber bands that small anyways?

Thanks guys, yeah it took a ton of time and a ton of patience.  My brother helped me out a bit, so that was great help.  Mom ended up grounding me on the last week of it so I could get it done instead of having a life.  But I got it done, and I do have a life now, and I'm very happy with it.  Cheesy
