Nice improvisation! I love how your simple items are made special with a little thought and care.

I have never sold anything crafted at these sales but have done the gently used kids items. There were mostly people who wanted things for almost free. I know there is always a Tupperware lady at ours, but not sure how she does. If you have a ton of baby items this may work for you but I hate to think of your creations being under valued. I recommend approaching small baby/child boutiques to sell your stuff...that way you get your target market that arent only looking for a bargain and a local store gets to sell Canadian made stuff!
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Homemade Deodorant on: May 25, 2011 07:24:21 AM
Okay. So I finally made this. I may have done something wrong. Huh

I could hardly wait to try it this morning and had an immediate stinging sensation...almost burning!! I used tea tree and lavender oils and think I used too much?? Is it 10 drops of each?? I also doubled the batch and had trouble drying it out with the microwave...it took a few attempts to thicken it up... I dunno...
I had shaved my pits right before as I usually do before applying deodorant...maybe that aggravated it??

My son at 7 is already smelly  Tongue so I wanted to have him use this too but I know he will snap if it stings. It does smell fantastic and feels great on my hands so maybe this batch will be good for smelly feet.

Any ideas as to what I have done wrong?? I may try another batch today...
Now  it is after a few hours and I have a crazy, super-sore rash...

This is just what I want! I am a Halloween birthday girl too, so the little bit of gore is my kind of paint job. I am jealous to say the least!
6  CANADA / Ontario / Re: Local yarn (wool)? Toronto or the south? on: April 14, 2011 12:08:16 PM
So I asked at the amazing yarn shop in Newmarket...Unwind.... on Main street... and the super nice lady that owns it said she sometimes carries roving and that Gemini fibres is a great resource for this. They are located in Mount Albert which is about a half hour north of the 401.
If you are looking for natural yarns outside of the city Unwind has a great selection wool both processed and unprocessed, bamboo,etc..and patterns too. Classes are also offered and the shop is super cozy and they are always helpful.

This is wonderful. Thanks for sharing. I have a gardening project I was asked to do at my son's school and this will make an awesome addition to it.  Smiley
