1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Sewing pattern for Wii Case? on: December 29, 2010 05:50:54 PM
I would like to make a travel case that houses my wii controller and nunchuk. I have not seen anything out there that will house the controller and nunchuk while in their silicone covers. My DH and I carry our controllers with us to friends and families houses to play and want something that will protect them, perhaps cushioning of some type. Has anyone seen a pattern out their for this or similar enough I could modify for for this purpose? Or seen an available product I can dupe?

Thanks for your help!

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Turtle themed swap? on: July 09, 2005 07:22:03 AM
I love turtles and have seen some other craftsters who do as well. Is there any interest in doing a turtle themed swap?

I was thinking like one large-medium-ish item and like 2 to 3 smallish items would be about right.

I can organize this one if enough people are interested?
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Two new skirts and a tank in the past week on: July 08, 2005 09:00:44 PM
I sewed up this tank for the fourth of July using Simplicity It's So Easy pattern # 4676 and added a tie at the bodice to make it more fitted and I also lengthened it for my long torsal and added a detail of the same fabric to the neck line. It's a great soft rayon that is so soft and light.

This skirt I made also for the forth of July using New Look pattern #6843 View D. It has a zipper in the back and two darts in the back. I skipped the front and one set of darts in the back for that more low rise look and a flat front. It's a stiff, really dark denim. I like the wrinkly look to it but it can be ironed for a more tailored look. It's part of my anti shorts, yeah skirts summer.

My second skirt I sewed up tonight using no pattern and winging it. It took me about twenty minutes. It has a slight A line to it and a grosgrain ribbon drawstring. The fabric is a fun stretchy material that has three of my four favorite colors in it. Blue, Brown, and Rusty Orange. I have the perfect rust orange knit fabric I'm going to use to make a matching top from and It'll make a cute outfit for that Seattle conference. I have enough of this fabric leftover to make a light jacket out of if I have time. It was only $1.00 a yard so I think a jacket and skirt for $2.50 is a steal!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Dark Brown Eyelit Wrap Skirt+smaller flaky friend=? on: July 08, 2005 08:39:03 PM
I have a friend that asked me to make her a skirt like one I had already made. It is made from a light weight dark brown cotton eyelite. It ties at the left hand side. I lined the back panel for modesty but the two side panels are unlined since they over lap and the lining was not needed. It is unhemmed currently since I was going to hem it to her desired length. She then flaked and does not want it now that it is finished and so here I am with a skirt that is slightly too small for me and no $ for my hard work. So I present it to you craftsters...if anyone would like to trade me for something they have made in return for this item pm me. I'll hem it for you to the length you want or you can do it yourself.

11 inches across the top, wrapped
34 inches across the top, unwrapped
25 inches long, unhemmed

It's really cute and I love my version of this but I don't need two and as I said it's too small for me anyways.
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Apron Obsession Swap Gallery on: June 30, 2005 11:28:14 AM
I know my partner got her apron a while back and I read that others are beginning to send theirs out as well so here's a gallery to show off our aprons! I can't wait to see them.

Petunia- Please post a pic of the one I sent you since I forgot to get a picture of it before I mailed it to you, I was too excited!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / A walk in the clouds nightgown? on: June 28, 2005 12:13:54 PM
"A walk in the clouds" is a cheesy movie I know but it is dear to my husband and I since it was the only thing on TV the night we got engaged so it's a running inside joke type of thing. Anyways I'm in love with the clothing from this era and everything Victoria wears in it. But I would love to make some of the nightgowns she wears in the film. They are to stylish and very much from that era and I must make one for myself. Does anyone know if there is a pattern for this type of clothing piece?

Here are some links to some of the ones she sported in the movie...
