1  Re: Color in a Box 2019 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Whistley on: March 11, 2019 04:10:19 PM
Sooo I just barely found the gallery and everything is AMAZING! So much fun color!

I get to add to it! I received from FiberAlchemist today. My color is purple.
(Sorry for the sideways pic, Craftster doesn't want to rotate it for me.)

I received the most beautiful wrap in shades of purple
A fun double zippered pouch
A hauntingly sweet tote bag
A lovely scented candle
Some amazingly soft and beautiful yarn
A cute purple fat quarter

Here's a closeup of the bag.
(I would love to find this cut file! I am in love with it!)

The first pic is better for the colors on the bag. I love the glitter!

Thank you so much FiberAlchemist! I love everything you made and am super impressed by your skills! I can't wait to wear the wrap (outside of my house, I couldn't help but wear it around the house once I got it) and the bag is definitely coming on our upcoming Disneyland trip! You are the best!

2  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 14 - GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Whistley on: December 12, 2018 03:14:37 PM
Life has been a little nuts so I hadn't opened the box from Averia.  Today I needed a break from mom-ing so I hid from the kids and opened it up! It was just what I needed! She went above and beyond! Just look:

Look at this cool stocking!

All of the little gifts:

And everything unwrapped:

Each item is so very me. Sharpies! Chocolate! Paint Markers! A Haunted Mansion picture book! (I collect picture books and I adore this one!) Haunted Mansion Ribbon! So many Pez!  Shocked

She made not one but SIX snowman mug rugs! each with a different color scarf:

Hand stitched Mickey and Minnie ornaments, a yarn pendant and a Christmas Pickle! (I've always wanted one.)
Look at his face!

A Haunted Mansion key fob and cross-stitched hitchhiking ghosts! These must have taken hours and hours! I adore them and they'll be up all year in my craft room.

Thanks Averia! You made my day! Merry Christmas!

My spot! Grin
I received a while ago but life has hit pretty hard so I haven't had time to post what Jellybean89 sent to me...until now.

Everything together:
(I'll rotate it when Craftster lets me.)

DAY 1
There is one little bag for each day from the first to the 25th!

There was taffy with day 8 too but one of my kids absconded with it before I could take a picture.
On day 15 I was really hopeful that day 16 would bring the other snuggly sock...and it did!

DAY 2:

A Cunning Hat and a tiny potato who believes in me!

DAY 3:

A spinning kit! This is one skill that I desperately want to learn but have been too scared to try. I'm excited to start!

DAY 4:

OMYGOSH! This little sheep is SO me! I love every little thing about him! The purple! The Baubley wool! The hat! I think I shall call him Woolbur!

(I'm starting to think I'm opening these backwards. The first days were supposed to be small items! I'm feeling seriously spoiled! Thank you!)

DAY 5:

The sweetest little gnome Santa ornament! He is so perfect and already on my tree!

DAY 6:

A purple zipper pouch which contains a travel crochet kit! The hooks are so tiny and the stitch markers are amazing!

DAY 7:

CORGI!!! Growing up we had corgi dogs and if they weren't so darn sheddy I'd have one now. I love them so much! This ornament is truly special to me.

DAY 8:

Sharpies! And a super cute Mickey coaster

DAY 9:

A purple winter set! Scarf, hat and wrist/arm warmers! Jellybean must be the fastest crocheter ever! I love them!

DAY 10:

More proof of amazing crochet skills! This shawl is incredible! I love the colors! I've been wearing it around the house, I love it so much!

Day 11:

A project bag/basket, a book about my very-favorite-of-all-time movie/book The Princess Bride!, some wonderful ribbon, yarn and some Nightmare Before Christmas decals! So much awesome!

Day 12:

A DISNEY TREE SKIRT! I ran out of time this year to make one for our Disney themed Christmas Tree in our Disney themed family room. I'm so glad I couldn't wait until Christmas day to open this. On Christmas Eve it found its home under our tree. Thank you so much! It is more than perfect!

Thank you so much Jellybean! I was beyond spoiled and you made my Christmas wonderful!

I received from PhoenixFireDesigns yesterday. It was a crazy busy day and I haven't had time until now to post. Here it is!

Is that the bat from the Haunted Mansion (which just happens to be my favorite)? Why yes it is!

Here's what it's resting on:

An amazing Haunted Mansion inspired box! And in case there was any doubt:

Here's the inside! Haunted Mansion wallpaper and the Tomb Sweet Tomb wall hanging inside!

I love it so much! Thank you PhoenixFireDesigns!

So the secret to the Pumpkin King's head is this. Take a small plastic treat pumpkin, use a heat gun to soften it up a bit and press down on top. Repeat until you have a squished pumpkin head. I covered it with tissue paper mache and used paper clay to build the features. Then lots of paint, and a little eyeshadow, and a spritz of hairspray to seal it all. Fill the head with candy corn. Those teeth? Too many candy corns.

Don't tell anyone the secret!

I'm so glad you love him, I almost kept him you know.

I won't tell.   Wink

Am I first? I claim this spot for my goodies from noxluff!

All together:

My skeleton dogs are guarding the packages from my kids.

Day 1:

An awesome wall hanging! I love the spider web running through all 3 frames and the little spider in the corner.

Day 2:

Some really cool bell jars. The bats on the top remind me of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. I have a few ideas brewin' of what I'm going to do with these. A bat decoration and some bat table scatter.

Day 3:

A sweet 3D Jack-O-Lantern decoration and a fun notepad.

Day 4:

It's no secret that I'm a Disney nut and this Mickey wreath is perfect! I love it!

Day 5:

I love this! The picture doesn't do it justice but the blue is reflective and it catches your eye when you walk by it.

Day 6:

Ohmygoodness! Halloween Mickey Shirt!!!

Day 7:

A sweet purple velvet skull, a lovely scented candle and some grow pumpkins!

Also today my kids opened their goodie bags. They ran off with all of the lovely goodies before I could take pics. They've been coloring and wearing fun masks and having a grand old Halloween time. Thank you noxluff for thinking of them. Smiley

Day 8:

Haunted Mansion inspired candle group!

Day 9:

10 Jack heads (my six year old is in love with Jack and she is in heaven) and some halloween cupcake wrappers.

Day 10:

A couple of absolutely adorable Halloween ornaments! And some gummy fangs. We've been having a blast with these, making funny faces.

Day 11:

Lovely kitchen towels, some 'cookies and screeem' m&m's, and check out the amazing candle! Love it!

Day 12:

Spooky Bingo and Halloween Bean Boozled! So fun!

Day 13:

Final day, a Jack tumbler filled with Reese's bats and some yummy candy corn popcorn!

This swap was loads of fun. Thanks for everything you made for me noxluff!

Happy Halloween!

LindyV321 sent me a sweet Trick or Treat bag!

Here's the haul:

And the crafted items:

I am totally in love with the shirt, the plaque and the haunted house! So me! The skeleton needlepoint tag is just awesome!

The candy won't last long in my house and the non-candy fillers are so fun! I especially love the witch hat salt & pepper shakers.

One more of the Haunted House:

Thank you, Lindy! I love it all!

(I'm playing with Picasa, trying it all out to learn how it works.  Yipee!  It did this time!)

This is one of the fabrics I'm using for my partner's big items.  DH has been to one of her favorite places and said that this fabric perfectly represented it! Grin

Pretty!

Check-in answer: We have tons of Christmas traditions. This swap has become one of them for me. Smiley I have a baking/candy making day.  We read a Christmas story book every night of December leading up to Christmas. We walk through the little Christmas village near us. Every year we look for someone who needs a little TLC and do a family Christmas act of service.  I love the Christmas season. Smiley
