11  Large shopping bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Weez on: April 15, 2010 03:40:16 PM
I bought a sham at crate and barrel outlet for $1 and liked the colors. I changed it into a large shopping bag. I use it when shopping at costco and it holds a lot! It's already quilted so I just added a lining (off cuts from a king duvet cover that I also got at C&B outlet and resized to fit a queen).

Does anyone have any tips on how to sew a square bottom on to bags with 4 sides, if you know what I mean? I've done a few bags like this and it's always stressful hoping that everything will line up.

12  Marimekko fabric in Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions by Weez on: March 17, 2010 04:19:45 PM
I found these beautiful Marimekko fabrics at a Crate and Barrel outlet close to where I live. The best part was that they have a scratch bin of remnants that they sell for $1/lb! I'm not sure what to do with them. Any ideas? The pieces are on average 20inch squares, though some are bigger.

13  Doggy stroller bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Weez on: March 14, 2010 04:38:45 PM
I made this bag for my dog crazy friend. It can hang on the back of her baby's stroller and works pretty well as she has fast access to her wallet, keys and other baby essentials. I was so excited to find a cute doggy feltie that matched the fabric so perfectly!

14  Kawaii handbag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Weez on: March 11, 2010 08:36:29 AM
I love cute Japanese fabrics. I have quite a stash from when I lived in Japan for a couple of years but I'm still really stingy with using my precious fabrics. I found this cute pattern for a patchwork style bag and thought it would be a good way to use some of my stash.

Decorative stitching between each panel. This is a Kokka fabric. I love these cute frogs by Kokka and the smiley apples by Decolello!
The lining.

15  Where the muffin man lives! in CHALLENGE 46 ENTRIES by Weez on: January 03, 2010 03:26:00 PM
Do you know the muffin man?
I made this with the help of my friend's mom who is quite the gingerbread house queen. I'm new to America so the tradition of gingerbread house making is new to me. It was so much fun and I'm looking forward to making it an annual holiday tradition.

Front of the house with peeps snow man, frosted upturned ice cream cone, nerd rope door frame and candy cane pathway.

Chimney made of peppermint rock candy.

Roof made of Nutter butters and topped with Hershey's candy cane kisses.

The light! Love the gingerbread house smell that you get after having the light on for a little while.
