1  Re: Mug Rug Swap Gallery! (SendOut Feb 21) in The Swap Gallery by Weez on: February 14, 2011 02:28:36 PM
Look at my valentine I got today!  Wink

My only request for my mug rug was that it be cute and happy. It's definitely both of those! Love it, thanks so much tristitia! It's very me and will definitely brighten my day when I use it.

And the back...or the front...

I have way too many ideas and way too many awesome fabrics in my stash...need to focus! I threw together a quick mug rug this weekend since I've never quilted before and thought I better learn about bindings and such.

3  Hello Kitty Gingerbread House in CHALLENGE 58 ENTRIES by Weez on: January 08, 2011 10:20:20 AM
Inspired by the recent Hello Kitty and Friends swap I decided to go with a HK themed house this year. It's become a tradition to go along with my friend to her mother in-law who is quite the Gingerbread House Queen. We make a day of it and everyone makes their own houses- such fun! The house is completely edible apart from Hello Kitty and includes sugar windows and a light.

Roof detail- bubble gum tape roof(that made the house really smell like candy) with twizzler accents, Hello Kitty-esque flower candies on the top of the roof, nerd rope on the sides of the roof, sprees on the bottom edge of the roof and Haribo Brixx candy chimney

Yay! I am SOOO happy to have finally got my package after lots of mail hassles!

First we have a set of really neat hologram magnets and push pins to decorate my work cubicle with.

Next up a pair of super cute hats. Felt fleecey Badtz maru for the grumpy-stay-away-from-me kind of days and the adorable slightly sparkly and oh so cute hello kitty for the not so grumpy kind of days. These came just in time for the cold front that's about to hit Chicago.

Love this apron! I can't wait to wear it at my friend's gingerbread cookie decorating day. Those bows on the straps are too cute!

And finally some extras.

Thank you so much Hollycopter! I would've been very sad if your package didn't make it to me.

Those dresses are so fun! Really great package!

Here's the package I sent to Hollycopter:
                   Purse/knitting tote
Isn't this fabric just too cute?

Multi-colored note pads that I made using my Print Gocco

Hello Kitty-esque bracelet- feel free to remove the bow and HK if it gets annoying.

Lunch bag that ties sort of bento-style so that you don't have to use plastic bags. Use it for other things if you like. It's reversible with scary eyeballs on the inside to chase away anyone who might try sneak something from your lunch.

Set of cards mostly made using my cricut.

The whole package

I had a lot of fun crafting for this swap and now I'm just waiting (kinda impatiently) for my package...really looking forward to getting it. Grrrr postal service!

6  Sackboy in Halloween Costumes by Weez on: November 07, 2010 07:54:38 AM
Sackboy and crafting mama at the halloween party.
We don't usually dress up for Halloween but this year my husband decided he wanted to dress up as Sackboy from Little Big Planet. I loosely followed the directions on makeasackboy.com.
I started off with a laundry basket to make the frame of the head and cut out a giant smile

I then covered the laundry basket in bubble wrap and then covered that in burlap (very itchy to work with!). I did some sewing and glue gunning to keep everything together. The eyes are made of pleather.
I made big fake stitches using yarn and covered the mouth with some chiffon.

My husband made the zipper on a brown shirt using duct tape and cardboard.

8  Toddler panda bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Weez on: July 31, 2010 11:38:16 AM
I sewed this bag up quickly for my little 2 year old friend who loves pandas. Inside the bag was a panda stuffy, panda cookies, a blackberry (just like her moms) and a panda bracelet I made.

9  Re: I <3 Owls Swap Gallery Sendouts 6/7/10 in The Swap Gallery by Weez on: June 07, 2010 09:25:17 PM
I received my fantastic package from humboldtcherry today (how cool that we got our packages on the same day)! I just got a job after looking for over a year(yay money for crafting stuff) and I'm looking forward to using some of my new owl stuffs there.

Look at this cute framed artwork. I asked for something with a fox and owl because my dog who is a shiba inu looks like a fox. 2 of my favorite things in one- my doggy and owls. It's on fabric and colored with pencils and the outlines are all hand embroidered!

My fuzzy Owlbert! I'm going to enjoy cuddling him when winter comes around

Owliver, the Spring owl.

I got these awesome and useful owl and personalized pouchy bags.

I'm thinking of using this one as a lunch bag. That fierce owl will chase away anyone planning to steal my treats.

One of the pouches was stuffed with all these fun things...

lovely little feltie

embroidered needle book

embroidered pin cushion

embroidered tea wallet (definitely going to be using this with my owl tea set at work)

The whole fantastic package

I love everything! Thank you so much humboldtcherry for turning me into a life long swapper!

My owl loving friend just returned from vacation and gave me this awesome tea set to say thanks for looking after her doggy.
