i shredded the sleeves to give it a rougher look and lined the collar with pink satin makin it perfect for poppin'!

my comp is freakin out so i wasnt able to load the rest of the pics but i'll do that asap!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / hard times love quotes? on: March 27, 2006 07:50:02 PM
hey guys....
a close friend of mine has a stomache tumor and i wanna make him a shirt (or other quoted item) to show him that my love is true

i have this quote in my head...but i can't remember it completely

it's something like "love isn't found when times are merry, but in the trenches and poverty" or something like that.

OR basically any love quote that deals with love through thick and thin...

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Long distance cross country CHEAP gift ideas on: January 27, 2006 05:30:38 PM
My best friend is in college in the states and I am stuck here in the Bahamas.  I totally lost track of time and now realize that Valentine's day is right around the corner!!

So far this is what I have...

A homemade card that says "Don't be an Ass....Be my Valentine" with a hand drawn donkey pic on the front. (did i steal that idea from somewhere on here? oops)
And I'm taking pics of some of our friends and family holding up signs that spell out "WE MISS YOU"
A "coupon" for a homemade Vegetarian dinner when he comes home

The postage is gonna kill me, so gifts that are kinda flat/light are ideal...
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Jazzing up my uniform help on: September 27, 2005 08:49:04 PM
ok, at my school we are required to wear blue button up shirts.....but they are so BORING! esp. since I am in the Fashion Trade Department.

Can anyone give me some ideas on jazzing my uniform up a bit? Little things like adding fun pins to my lapel etc.

Nothing too too outrageous, my school is fairly slack put i don't want to push it, esp this early in the school year.
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / 70's themed party help!! on: September 26, 2005 06:26:38 PM
Ok, i've been invited to a pre halloween party, and it's a 70's theme. But i'm a child of the 80's (86 to be exact)...which would actually make me a child of the 90's because i was only a toddler in the 80's  Huh

anyway, can anyone give me some really cool ideas for 70's outfits (or even games etc.)....some that I can make myself or get cheap??

the more ideas the better, cuz i have a few friends who need help too. thanks
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Taking Measurements on: September 12, 2005 06:08:17 PM

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / tam question....help please on: September 06, 2005 08:25:20 PM
ok...this will show how new I am at crocheting.....

when crocheting a tam do you start from the middle outwards, or outwards and then move in..... Embarrassed

i'm sorry if this is an incredibly incredibly silly question but I just woke up this morning and decided I should learn how to crochet.

and i better get cracking because winter is around the corner...
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / SEWING a tam??? on: September 06, 2005 06:02:12 PM
ok....i've been up and down this site looking at tams and i've found many BUT i can't understand any to save my life!! I've only dabbled in crocheting before to make wrist bands, which I did using trial and error.

I have no clue how to read crocheting instructions, and I am getting frustrated before I even start!!
So then I started wondering if there was a way to sew a tam (obviously using cloth and not yarn  Wink )

Any ideas guys?
