I think it definitely came out right! I absolutely love it - it's amazing!!

I am in absolute awe - I struggle to cut a straight line with a ruler, let alone anything else - it's fantastic!!

That's so cool!! It's good to see what it looks like done - Always pointed me in the direction of the pattern you used, after I was wanting another blankie, and I'm doing a pink and black version, but seem to have stalled.

But 6 days?!?!?!?! Think I may have just been spurred on!!

great idea J_Kieviet! I felt bad for saying all your hard work terrified me!

Loving the dust mitts TSM - what a good idea. Dust plays havoc with my skin, so those would be great for me - think I've just found another project, lol!! I've also been reading the old knitalong sampler quilt posts - so many great patterns, I want to make a start on of one those two.

I've finally finished the boring socks - I just don't have the patience for such thin wool and needles unless the pattern is complicated enough to hold my attention, and these weren't!

Sorry for the poor quality pics - it's really hard to take a good picture of your own feet! The pics don't show it too well, but in the top half of the rib, there is a sparkly pink thread knitted in there for extra prettiness. The variation in the wool wasn't quite what I was after, but it's OK, and the birthday girl loved them which is what it's all about, eh?

Considering how bored I was, I'm partway through another pair (for me this time!) in chunkier fair isle effect wool and I'm loving it! I intended to use circular needles, but I tried, and failed - again!!!

I'm working up the courage to go to a local knitting group tomorrow, so if I manage it, I might find someone that can show me in the flesh!

Right, better go - should be doing homework - does Craftster count as research??  Roll Eyes
24  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: The Beekeeper's Quilt Knitalong on: September 10, 2011 02:56:03 PM
I love this, and have bookedmarked for ASAP starting! I wanted to make another sweary quilt, but for me this time, and I think this may do the trick!
Now to decide to knit or crochet-wonder if I could do a mix of both...

Wow-they are adorable!! So cute!!!!

I second the yarn choice - it almost gives them their personality (if that doesn't sound too strange?!)

uhm--please do not post pictures of your costume...Cheesy

I am sure it is great but I have a morbid fear of clowns... Smiley

Omg I'm so glad somebody else said that! Im sure your costume is amazing, but it WOULD have me running away from my computer screaming lol! They are only third in line to mime artists and the Tango man (not sure if that is just a british thing, but terrifying all the same!) sorry to hear about your crafting blues that's pants Sad maybe try doing something just for you? Treat yourself, betcha deserve it!

Fair play sheepblue-that would be just too hard for me to do! And it looks stunning, such an amazing use of all your lovelies. Think I'm a bit like dawnstrees- I just like to ooh and aah over mine, lol! Do you happen to have a pic before spray paint? I am intrigued to see what it looked like all colourful!

I am stiiiill working on boring socks- they just don't seem to hold my interest. Although I've just started a scary new teaching course for work, with uggins of research and coursework, and suddenly 'discovered' all these things I want to make instead of doing scary coursework! I mean, which self respecting craftster would turn up without new hand made bag for files (and one for my colleague on the same course, with matching pencil cases and ...) see?!? Not possible lol!!
