31  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Toggles out of Clay? on: January 10, 2010 08:57:15 PM
Is the polymer strong enough to make toggles out of? I have a friend that is allergic to metal. I thought I could make big chunky toggles to use as a pendants. Will they break if they clank together too much? Any suggestions?
Thanks Kris
32  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Need ideas for making jewelry for someone allergic to metal on: December 21, 2009 06:29:54 AM
My friend is allergic to metal and I want to make her some jewelry. I have a few ideas, but I know there are lots more ideas out there from experienced jewelers. Are there plastic clasps rather then metal? Any suggestions would be wonderful.

Polymer clay on the back of a pendant to run the cord through.

A button type clasp. Sew a loop on the end of a ribbon and a button on the other end.

Thanks Kris
