11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Fruit-themed altered puzzle on: July 12, 2012 11:22:40 AM
After lots of swapping, my fruit themed altered puzzle is finally finished up.
I was really bad at keeping track of who sent what...so I'm not going to credit all the wonderful people by name who contributed to the pieces... Sad  But I am super grateful!

THE DETAILS
Thanks to SmmarrtIm stealing all her stuff ☺

Finish that puzzle you started last round or start a new puzzle. You purchase or re-purpose a jigsaw puzzle - it can be wood or cardboard - and send 2 pieces to each of your four partners. You can send two random pieces or two neighboring pieces. You choose the theme or themes, or select "Artist's Choice" and your two pieces are returned to you painted, decorated, embellished and fabulous! Think ATCs or inchies - just in a different configuration. Puzzle pieces can be challenging to alter, but the sky is the limit.

This is open to international partners. So if you are partnered with an international person, I may change or extend the send-out date to accommodate for each country's postal services. Also, for the USA, let's use Delivery Confirmation, (cost 80-cents). I know this isn't required in paper swaps, and you can send your blank pieces in an envelope with one or two stamps, but for the super-paranoid, let's use DCs for BOTH BLANKS AND ALTERED MAILINGS.

While waiting for partners, you should:

1. Buy or choose a puzzle.

2. Assemble and number the backside of EACH piece.

3. Decide if you want the pieces facing the same way or all over the place. Add arrows to backs of pieces to indicate which direction. (On the questionnaire, I will ask if your pieces are one direction or any direction).

4. Choose your theme or themes.

5. Prepare your pieces.  Some people just mail them as they are; others sand them a bit and add some gesso to make a clean slate.  Its up to you.

6. You can write a letter to include with your pieces and make your wishes known - glitter or no glitter, 3-D or no 3-D, words or no words, whatever guidelines you have for your finished pieces. You can also say "Artist's choice with an ocean theme" or "Artist's Choice" - this means each partner will decorate/alter the pieces in his/her own way and you will have a puzzle with a random look.

7. Remember, you will send out your pieces to each partner for altering. It's a good idea to copy or trace pieces before sending out if anything goes missing.

PROGRESS FOR THIS ROUND
This round each swapper will be notating her own progress on sending/receiving in their own post at the start of the gallery.  In order to keep this organized, after you send the questionnaire and are added to the swap, you will receive directions for beginning and upkeeping your own progress post in the gallery.  This is in addition to PMs, but please do not slack on keeping your progress post updated.

14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Altered Puzzle Pieces, Round 5? on: December 12, 2011 06:34:17 PM
Hi, there--

I think we had said that as soon as Round 4 wrapped up, I would start a Round 5...but Round 4 took forever to wrap up, and right now I'm a little crazy.

Would mid-January interest people?
15  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / ATCs for my Kitchen--made by lots of Craftsters on: July 27, 2011 04:29:59 PM
In the ongoing ATC swap, I got a set of letters that spell out "kitchen" so I could hang them in my bathroom...just kidding.  That would be silly.  They're hanging in my kitchen.

I got GREAT ATCs from (in order) leslieshappyheart, AmandaBL, eukarya, mxer145, BrackishPotato, jmiller614, and miknessevie.

I chose some of my favorite foods for themes, and so it's:
K is for Kiwi
I is for ice cream
T is for tea
C is for cupcake
H is for hot peppers
E is for eggs
N is for Nutella

Put together on a balsa wood board with some paint...

20  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / light switch/ electric plug cover swap? on: June 04, 2011 08:59:36 AM
Not sure if people are going to go for this, but I think it would be fun.  I couldn't find anything like this when I searched.

I just painted my condo and am going to replace my lightswitch and electrical plate covers to be more fun and decorative.

We could maybe switch for two plates of a type you specify?
This should be a quick, easy swap...like, a bit of Mod Podge and some pretty paper could do the trick.

Any interest? If so, maybe July or August?
