21  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Crayola Wall Art on: September 09, 2011 11:04:53 PM
Have I already posted on this? Well if not I will say. It is awesome!
22  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / I haven't posted in a while, but I learned how to crochet hats! on: September 09, 2011 10:59:13 PM
I wanted to learn some new crochet things. I made a scarf for my friend a while back and wanted to make a hat to match it. I also had a new nephew this year and wanted to make him a hat too!
first hat I made was for a baby 3 months- 6 months. It ended up being smaller, but I had a lot of fun. He couldn't wear it, so I made him another one that was up to 3 years! That one fit his fat head. lol.

Then I made one for my friend lisa to go with her scarf that I made for her a while ago. I tried doing this weird brim that you only go in the front loops until it curls on itself. I didn't quite like the whole thing, so I did half-way. I like how it curls, but I really have to figure out edgings. Its supposed to be S/M but it fits a little big. Someday it will be just right. ^_^

Overall, Crafster. Its good to be back. I missed you guys!

29  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: World of Warcraft Rd 2 (signups until Jan 27, sendouts Mar 1) on: January 16, 2011 05:07:51 PM
This has to be one of the coolest swaps I've ever heard of! I would absolutely love to participate in this swap; however, I am unlucky and have just become a member merely moments ago, therefore I have participated in zero swaps thus far.  Cry

I don't think you have to be in a swap previously in order to join. I think you just need to be a member for at least 1 month.

Here's a neat picture guide from MMO Champions on what you should be doing!

[I blame bad heals]

And the heals blame Blizzard.

Ya know... I'm a healer and everyone keeps blaming us for it. But we just don't have the capacity to heal through some of these fights when the rest of the group does not know what they are doing. I don't think it could really be 1 persons fault. As a blue post said before:
We don't want you to stumble your way to victory. We don't want you to be able to overwhelm bosses without noticing or caring what theyre doing. We dont want healers to be able to make up for all of the mistakes on the part of the other players. While at the end of the day, dungeons may just be gussied up loot vending machines, we want you to do more than push a button to get the loot.

It was so easy to blame heals in wrath because everything was so easy the only way NOT to clear stuff was to not be healed. Can't do that now.
I think its just an issue of people have to play what they are good at. NO more queing as your Tank or Heals off spec just for a faster que or because the group  needs one. You do really need people in EVERY position to know what they are doing. I heal heroics and raids just fine, but every cog in the machine has to be working at their full capacity. Not just one person.

Healers seem like they largely understand that Heroics are challenging, and sometimes get penalized when the rest of the group doesnt understand that. If you feel like you cant cast anything but your efficient heal or youll run out of mana, then something is going wrong with the fight. Likewise, if you feel like you must spam your inefficient heals to the exclusion of all else, then your group is ignoring key mechanics or is just undergeared. Boss fights in 5-player dungeons generally shouldnt last more than two minutes or so (the last few Deadmines bosses can be longer). If youre running out of mana because the fights are going too long, that is a problem with the DPS or tank in your group. Gear also makes a huge difference for healers, which leads to my next point.

For everyone, regardless of role, I suggest running the dungeons on normal mode until you feel more comfortable with the pulls. Those runs can be quick, the penalty for mistakes isnt as high, and you can often still earn a little reputation, cloth, or enchanting materials. As a bonus, youll probably make a group really happy if youre geared for Heroics but helping them out in a normal dungeon.
