1  Lolita Bunny for my neice! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by achgfd on: December 10, 2011 11:42:42 AM
This is a Lolita Bunny I've been working on. Right now she has a short dress because I still have more to go.
I got this faux fur fuzzy yarn from a cousin-in-law and had no idea what I could ever use it for. then maybe 6 months later this cute little bunny popped in my head. She is really soft, and I love her ears!

And here is her deviant page: http://achgfd.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4ipel0

2  Batman! I am the night... in Crochet: Completed Projects by achgfd on: December 10, 2011 11:38:21 AM
This is the Batman I made for my nephew. I am still working on the pattern which I may list for sale in my etsy shop. Or... maybe I will just make Batmans.
I really like how he turned out. He's actually quite large and very hugable. His cape is just a sheet of felt because I liked that darker color rather than the black yarn. Plus it's really light and moves much easier (and of course was faster!).
The bat symbol still amazes me how well it came out. What I did was trace the bat symbol from my iTouch (small screens ftw) on regular printing paper. Then I put that on the sticky back of this really nice felt. It had glue on one side. Then I cut around the paper and peeled off the paper, put it on the Yellow oval, and then had sown everything together!
Phew! That was work.

I don't know what he's doing in those last two pictures. I think he was tired of the photoshoot and his Bruce Wayne Playboy attitude came out.

Here's his deviant art page: http://achgfd.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4ipe07

3  Re: Advanced Shaping in Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions by achgfd on: October 09, 2011 07:02:15 PM
I just made a doll and had a lot of the same issues.

This is Sona from League of Legends Body. I couldn't find the right pattern for giving her that hourglass shape so I made something up. Essentially I made a regular ball but instead of closing it the last two rows I just single crochet up until it was long enough and then began to increase into another 'ball' shape. I went through the back loops on the bottom going up, so that I could crochet her skirt right into her torso through the front loops I didn't use.

Okay this was the next step. Attaching the head, arms, and boobs! I made the mistake of not making her breasts with the initial torso, so I struggled to find a way to make them come out but not like balls. So I crochet two small circles, one peach and one blue, Then I sowed them together in like a flat cookie shape. Then I folded that in half so its color on each side. THEN! I sowed it to her body. I think they came out pretty well!

5  Portal Test Signs in Stenciling: Completed Projects by achgfd on: September 25, 2011 10:38:28 AM
I've been attempting this project for a few weeks, then my cousin came over who works in a print shop and gave me some pointers. I think it looks a lot better.
I've always been interested in those test signs that appear before each level in portal. They were such a neat idea to let you know whats coming up! I wanted to make some to hang on my wall and paint them on a cavas, but how to get the perfect shape? Well... first I edited the image and printed them on regular paper. The first painting from that came out well, but I couldn't use the stencil again. So I looked up some videos and saw how graffiti artists make their stencils. I found these old plastic resume covers and cut it from that. But the paint would just roll under it. So I got a roller! That helped this a lot. They are still rough around the edges- but! I think that adds to the post-apocolyptic feeling that you get from Portal 2.

6  I haven't posted in a while, but I learned how to crochet hats! in Crochet: Completed Projects by achgfd on: September 09, 2011 10:59:13 PM
I wanted to learn some new crochet things. I made a scarf for my friend a while back and wanted to make a hat to match it. I also had a new nephew this year and wanted to make him a hat too!
first hat I made was for a baby 3 months- 6 months. It ended up being smaller, but I had a lot of fun. He couldn't wear it, so I made him another one that was up to 3 years! That one fit his fat head. lol.

Then I made one for my friend lisa to go with her scarf that I made for her a while ago. I tried doing this weird brim that you only go in the front loops until it curls on itself. I didn't quite like the whole thing, so I did half-way. I like how it curls, but I really have to figure out edgings. Its supposed to be S/M but it fits a little big. Someday it will be just right. ^_^

Overall, Crafster. Its good to be back. I missed you guys!

8  moogle keychain! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by achgfd on: December 03, 2010 02:32:57 PM
I love this little moggle! He's so adorable! I made it for my friend stir who wanted it for his wife. Which is loved. The wings really stumped me because he's so small, I couldn't figure out how to crochet them. Instead I made them out of felt and sowed them on. I actually like the way they look. Its very adorable!

9  Re: Sewists/Yarnies vs Papercraftsters Gallery in The Swap Gallery by achgfd on: December 02, 2010 02:18:12 PM
OMG I RECEIVED FROM MINK BIKINI! I have to say that I am tickled pink by everything I've gotten. My mother-in-law was impressed as well! (very hard feat to do I must tell you). She must have known about my love of hats. Especially ones with ears on them. And the headband! <3 I have been wearing it alllll day. Everything is so perfect!
First is a group shot of everything I got. Then the little purse- perfect for my crochet hooks! Yay ty! I was losing them! Then a white Barrett. Please disregard the goofy face. I am terrible at head shots. Next is the black rectangle hat with kitty ears! So neat that its a square, but when I put it on my head it forms the ears. And I love the little popcorn detail. I'm glad you liked making it so much! And then my favorite! The headband! It has two sides, didn't show the other sorry. But it is so delectably cute. When I wear it and make dinner I feel like Cooking mama!

And finally is the kitty ears and kitty tail! the tail is awesome! I never thought of using a clip to detach it. Thats a great idea! The ears are also curved! Still working on how to wear the ears. I think my hair might not be thick enough, not used to these kinds of clippies. But they are so cute!

I am in love with everything I received! Thank you so so so so much!
