1  Re: Amelie Swap Gallery - Send Out by 03/18/2011 in The Swap Gallery by Some_Girl on: March 29, 2011 09:30:06 PM
ok . . finally time to post some pics!  Cheesy

crystallized_art's crafty wares :

Amelie message board

Trinket box outside

Inside with birdhouse gourd kit

Goodie bits, tea, candy and recipes for Amelie inspired dishes

and my personal fave. . the Amelie coffee cozy. .  .

The quote says:
"I like to look for things no one else catches. I hate the way drivers never look at the road in old American movies."

crystallized-art says she made the cozy as an after thought but it really is my favourite part! Thanks again!

Hope yours turns up soon!  Huh

2  My Daughter's Christmas Present! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Some_Girl on: January 03, 2011 05:33:33 PM
Some of you probably remember that for my daughter's 13th birthday earlier this year I made her a little demon baby doll, seen in my Craftster post here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=359956.0 Well she absolutely loved it and of course asked for another custom baby for Christmas. I use regular acrylic paints for his body, a transparent red for the blood which I occasionally add a drop of black to, and Sculpey for the extra bits like his scabs, teeth, and ribs. I like to use Weld-Bond to secure the Sculpey, and I seal the baby's paint job with a watered down mix of Mod Podge Hard Coat; which becomes a progressively higher ratio of glue to water as I go. Usually I do at least 5 coats by the time I'm through with it. On to some pics:

Wearing the little Santa hat I made him <3

Before pic . . at least before *too* much mutilation had occured. I always seem to forget to take a proper before pic  Roll Eyes

Close up of his face  Smiley

Finished baby. You can find more "in progress" shots on my blog. http://ninjarobotthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/01/first-post-of-new-year.html

Thanks for looking! Hope all of your crafty endeavours for Christmas went over as well as this guy did Smiley

I came home to a fabulous box of Legend goodies last night! Seriously ladies, warm up those wisting buttons coz Knickertwist has certainly outdone herself! It's a goblin's paradise outside my door today so on to the pictures!

First off, Jack's bag of lucky charms:

Lily's book of love poems and token's from Jack:

A goblin's paradise: (going straight onto my tree this year!)

Horn from an ugly one horned mule:

Brown Tom's hat:

Now I know what you're thinking. . how fabulous is all of that!? Knickertwist has surely gone above and beyond here spoiling me  Cheesy and you're right. . but wait. . . .she wasn't finished yet!

Check this beautiful fierce and free faerie out:

Can you believe how seriously spoiled I have been? This is an amazing package! I was definitely blessed to be partnered with Knickertwist!  Such a talented and giving lady! I hope she enjoys her package even a fraction as much as I shall be enjoying mine! I think I'll put on Brown Tom's hat and take a walk in the snow later this afternoon! Thanks again Knickertwist!  Kiss

Thank you Nightowl for being an awesome organizer!

4  My Daughter's Birthday Present Is Finished! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Some_Girl on: September 19, 2010 10:38:56 PM
She turns 13 on the 23rd and loves anything horror related, always has! So this year for her birthday I decided she needed a OOAK horror baby doll to join her collection of the undead! I bought a regular doll from my local Walmart and set to him with acrylic paints, some sculpey, fabric dye, and sealer (aka watered down modpodge  Tongue ) and ended up here  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Oh Hello dead demon baby doll!

Before he met with a tragic end  Undecided

Painting on some shading and decomp spots.

End results  Grin

If you want to see more of my crazy progress pics you can check it out over here: http://ninjarobotthoughts.blogspot.com/2010/09/shhhhh-its-secret.html

Thanks for looking!  Kiss Cross your fingers and hope she loves the little beastie!

Super cute toast charm bracelet:

I believe the bottom left corner guy is flax seed bread. MMMMMMM flax, how I love thee lightly toasted with a slathering of butter.

Very cute wall hanging depicting french toast!

(this is almost too funny and you'll see why later  Tongue)

7  Ugly Laminate End Tables = Craft Project!!!! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Some_Girl on: March 30, 2010 04:44:19 PM
So, as per usual, being the genius I am. . . I forgot to take any before pics!  Roll Eyes

We recently moved cross country and in the process parted with a good many pieces of furniture. Shortly after we moved in, our neighbours (some very nice University students) moved out. Leaving us with some free (if excessively ugly) end tables they had acquired along the way. Free is free after all; so we lived with the hideous things for around six months. A quick Google search for 'ugly laminate end table' has netted me this fairly similar beauty for your comparison. lol I'm sure you've all seen one of these:

What a looker right!? Anyhoooo, I couldn't live with them any longer so with the help of some nice black paint, my printer, Google, and Mod Podge . . . we now have something I CAN live with:

Excuse the sideways-ness and photo glare lol Forgot that Craftster Pic Hosting doesn't let you turn images and my son is on my computer so I'm relegated to accessing the pics from this one.

Thanks for looking  Smiley
